Wing Questions
Ok, I own Epic Wings and they are great, but I am having some issues with a few poses I am working on.
A few questions, what would be the best way to achieve a "wrapped around anothers shoulder" effect? I am finding them a bit stiff using the pose dials and the fact there aren't a lot of pose morphs in them.
Second a "Wrapped around someone you are holding" type pose, having the same issues as above. Trying to use the tool and free move the wing tends to tear off the back.
I like the wing to function as almost another set of arms in a way, an extension of the character. So using it this way in a scene seems natural, just as a character would reach out to someone with a hand so too with a wing.
Now, would I be better off moving to Griffin Wings? Or Feathered Wings? As they (The Griffin at least) seem to have a bit more flexibility with posing, they just have a touch less of the natural look (the Griffin) of the feathered or epic wings that I like.
I know the obvious answer is to probably rebone and add morphs but if you look at my signature I am totally out of my element there so a friendly push at a beginning point to doing that if that would be my best direction would be appreciated as well.
So anyone with experience with any or all of those wings, or who have used them in those ways who would like to share pointers or suggestions, I would be most appreciative.

I'm just guessing here..., you want a pose like this?
Very similar, yes. Are those the epic wings? I cannot seem to get them to bend even remotely close to that. Or other poses similar, a figure who is in a hug and the wings wrapped around them, or wrapped around a figure beside them. Anything close and they clip through the shoulders of the wing owner.
The main pose I am trying to work on is a figure in a hug, being consoled, head on the winged figures shoulder and the wings wrapped protectively. Worked at it quite a while and short of adding custom morphs I cannot see a way with the epic wings.
Anyways, long story short, was that done with Epic wings out of the box? Or did you do tweaking? Or was that a different wing set? It seems that between the shoulder and first joint is a lot more curved than the wings out of the box is capable. Same as between first joint and second. The only wings I can see that seem to have built in curve pose morphs out of the box is the griffin, and as I said above are not quite the overall look I am looking for.
Rambling.
Tl;dr: Yes, how?
You can turn the limits off on the wings pose joints to go beyond what the defaults allow. Just watch for distortion when you do the posing.
Problem is the wings except at the shoulder only bend along one plane, they do not have any joints to allow bending along the plane to allow the wrap. In tjeb's picture, the actual "embrace is achieved by the "flex" in the feather because the wings themselves do not allow bending in the direction except right at the shoulder attachment. They only allow adjustment through the Y plane and a limited arc up to where they are in tjebs picture In a flat configuration. To bend inwards towards the chest would need adding of additional joints or modifiying the joints. to allow movement along that axis.
Maybe I will just go looking on how to add another bone or morph point or pose point or whatever I need, basically just need one more point or two of articulation to achieve what I need...Or add another axis to the ones there.
Edit: Another case of Submit post solving things, with limits off and free pose, managing to drag it into some sort of shape, crudely.
Yes, Epic Wings.
Forgot to mention that I did on the left wing what Jaderail suggests: adjust the limit.
First pic in this post is Malaik Wings, way too massive to achieve the effect that you are after, I think.
Second pic is Harpy Wings, they 'stick' to the arms, but making parts of the arms invisible look very odd.
Third pic shows that I used the side-side slider.
Thank you very much, my focus was too narrow, trying to "pose" the wings, was looking only in "posing" I do that sometimes. Even when I know the answer was in transforms...Just need the obvious hit over my head sometimes.....
Once again I am so grateful at the level of helpfulness in these forums, so many others I would be ignored or "noobed" into oblivion by what I see now was a fairly obvious answer that I was too focused somewhere else to see.
