What causes this?

So I opened a new scene and placed two glass bottles in the scene, one behind the other and I rendered:

See "What is Going on 1"

i can see through the first bottle through to the second bottle. This is using no lights, and the perspective view only.

I try to add these to bottles to a scene I am building, but when I render the second bottle is no longer visible through the first:

See "What is Going on 2"

Thinking I'm going nuts, I clear the scene, restart Daz Studio 4.6 Pro, and I repeat what I did the first time. This time I am not able to see

through the first bottle to the second. It still looks like "What is going on 2"

What is going on?

See attached images.

Max Ray trace depth in your render settings. Glass items like this will need a much higher setting.

Example a glass has 4 sides, outer then inner, inner again and outer again the Light needs to PASS through all those layers. So slowly up the Max Ray Trace setting until you get what you need. Be warned Higher settings will mean longer render times so only go as high as you need. Use the Spot render tool to test then you can get it right faster.

The Contents in the bottles will also need to be accounted for in your setting.

Basically, for that, you'll need to be at least at 8...possibly 10 or more.

Yes it will but should look good once rendered.
