    started flipping the surfaces that were inside out - which made them look invisible in poser and made them look black when using cartoon and certain other shaders in Daz Studio ---- note that if you use teleblender/blender for your poser/daz renders it doesnt matter

    i use DS software-cartoon renders to detect problem surfaces

    plus it's a reminder that there's eclipses coming up this spring !!

    it's a Poser prop actually

    though i didn't try it yet in poser .... lets see ... i have a plain vanilla poser 9 .... i suspect many parts will be invisible because they are inside out ... not bad !

    next version wont have invisible walls

    well guess i'll make a second beta version that addresses the main issues ... notably the openability of the doors


    cool, I wasn't sure if it was compatible so I didn't download it, now I will.thanks for this cool chateau.

    I'm assuming that's a photo of a real wall. Are you planning on making textures that elaborate? That's going to be a lot of work if you are.

    well it was a photo of a Versailles wall, not by me, just to decorate my reply :)

    i will keep the wall ornament texture simple , the one included with the prop

    just now i was re-creating the panels texture
    i'll probably post the real 3d panel object, 20000 polygons instead of 1 polygon for "textured panels"
    and i'll create a bump/displacement map of it

    didn't realize the walls were so tall
    ( and i got to use the shoes-on-floor script!, saved a whole minute of work! )

    you can grab this color map and this displacement map
    they will be used to create the new wall panel materials, but you could make your own

    ( daz studio soft renders bump map and fosplacement ,map applied to a 1x6 plane

    the new priorities are

    - publish a castle prop that renders well in poser and fixes some problems - and has animatable door/windows

    - finish and publish the ramp/frame/moldings generator .... which was used to add baseboard and crown moldings to the walls and make the wall panel ornaments

    - staircase construction kit

    - the pose/animation script that lets you have a character's upper body rotate around its ankles or its knees or thighs ( which gave rise to the need for a balcony, which gave rise to this castle )

    -- return to the physics simulation engine
    - probably the kinect-to-daz-studio interface
    - arduino etc interface to daz studio
    - 3d printing things
    - cage deformers
    - 3d painting
    -water, grass, mirrors ... ... ... ... ...

    Sorry Jacques, in my very posh Chateautel, no stairs; my guests would not accept that.
    Only elevators & escalators connecting the floors.

    womder if some castles had human or horse powered elevators way back when :)

    i'll try to remember to make each floor and ceiling removable for things like that !

    Dear Jacques,
    I went into the archives, left by one of the previous owners of the chateau and found this amazing footage.
    So it looks like the movement of the elevator was human powered.
    Although not found in writing, rumours are that guests who could not pay their bill, were forced to operate the wheel on the roof.

    a cyberpunk version could be a ship , something between the matrix and tron's ships ... and captain Haddock's Moulinsart
