Smart Content Missing Genesis 2 file location

Studio 4.6 misses it's chance to read file locations from the content manager.

File :
Genesis 2 Base Female.duf
Path :
C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/People/Genesis 2 Female/Genesis 2 Base Female.duf

Content Manager was set-up correctly to keep my SSD clean of 3D content.

The actual file location is:
Path :
D:\3D Base\My Daz 3D Library\People\Genesis 2 Female

The only way that DAZ Studio knows where to find your content, is if you tell it where you installed it to.

C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library is the default location that DIM uses to install content unless you change it inside DIM using the gear icon at the top right hand side.

If you installed to D:\3D Base\My Daz 3D Library\ then you have to enter that as a path in the Content Directory Manager as BOTH DAZ Studio Formats AND Poser Formats.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and add the paths as shown.

I agree and so that's why I posted.

The content directory manager was set to the new location and I can find them using the Content Library tab. When I access them from the Content Library they load. They also load from Windows Explorer, but that always launched a new copy of Studio.

If I go to the Smart Content tab it isn't looking where the Content Directory Manager is telling it to look.

Smart Content relies on Metadata to tell it where to load the items from.

You will need to go to the Content Library pane, and use the drop down menu to find Content DB Maintenance. Then use the Re-import Metadata option to get the correct locations loaded.

If that doesn't work, you may need to reset your Database, and try it again. If you use your own Categories, you should save them first under the Export User Data option.
