R U familar with transferring morphs using GenX?

hey all
I've been able to successfully transfer several of my V4 characters into Genesis using GenX ....however I have one character that does not want to transfer properly.....I believe it's a "custom" rather than a "dialed in" character although I'm not entirely sure about that....the character I'm trying to transfer is Anais A4V4 that was released way back in 08.

if I drag and drop the required base, morphs etc into the GenX panel and save as a single morph [as I have done with the other successful transfers] I end up with the head transferring properly however the body morphs do not transfer properly.....there is some transfer but it's clearly not what should be ...and the only way I could get this was to use the A4 base with the A4 character morphs as opposed to the V4 base with the V4 character morphs [which is what I would like to use as the A4 looks abit to unrealistic]....maybe I should point out the character comes with both V4 and A4 character morphs.

the other method I've tried is to create a .cr2 of the V4 base with the required morphs and then import that into GenX but nothing transfers and I end up with just the V4 base....however if I load up the .cr2 all the morphs are present and the character looks proper.

any ideas of what might be preventing a proper transfer?

thanx

Are you also dialing in the corresponding Gen4 shape for Genesis? GenX transfers won't look right on the default Genesis base.

See if the answer I received in the post below for a similar problem is helpful to you as well:

    Greetings,
TheWheelMan's answer is most likely; setting the checkmark manually and changing the value may be necessary.

The other thing to note is that, according to the product description, if you're trying to transfer the Myrto morph, it needs the Elite Morphs which is a rarer requirement.

    thanx for the replies

Vaskania ...yes I have been dialing in the required Gen4 shape.

Cypherfox...yes I'm aware that the Myrto morph requires the elite morphs

the Wheelman....I read your post and while your problem was similar I don't know enough about this to get any info or directions from it.....in your example you were trying to inject just one head morph?......in my case I'm dealing with the head and a body morph.....from what I understand from your post some values had to be manually checked off...is there someway someone could walk me through this and tell what values ought to be checked off?

I've got genX loaded up with the v4 base and the required morphs ......through the select function I've chosen "transfer on for all non zero values" and if I go through the morph groups on the left side of the GenX panel there are indeed values checked off for transfer.....there seems to be quite a few that are checked off for transfer that pertains to the body so I'm at a loss as to why the body morphs are not transferring properly.

    thanx for the help

I just tried it and it worked for me. I dragged my cr2 of V4 that contains all the morph packs (Aiko, Morphs++, Elite, etc) to GenX, then i dragged the Anais head and body presets to GenX. I used "Create a single morph", and under 'Select' chose "Transfer On for all non-zero values". Then hit Transfer.

alken......after reading your post I created a new .cr2 of V4 with the required morph packs and tried again......still not working....all I get is a bit of movement around the chest area.....man how frustrating....but thanx for the reply.

one thing I'm unsure about is using Daz 4 to create a .cr2 of V4 .......I'm unable to find a way to create one using Daz 3.....so is using Daz 4 to create one the correct way to do this?
    thanx

Yes, I created my .cr2 of V4 in DS 4.6. Load your V4 actor with all the morphs via Morph Loader, then in Parameters/Mesh Resolution change the figure to Base, and Subdivision level 0. Now export it as a new .cr2.

alken.....do I need to use Morph Loader?...can I not just add the morph packs etc. the usual way...that is by double clicking on the icons for the morphs in Studio?

and thanx so much for your help....this has been bugging me for days....I know how pathetic

edit: ok I now realize that Morph Loader Pro is included with Studio 4 .....I have never heard of it before and will get back to you after figuring out how to use it......thanx again for the heads up on this.

I didn't try it without morph loader, but I don't think that would make any difference. Morph Loader Pro is different than the Gen 4 Morph Loader (I have no experience using MLPro). Sorry you're still having problems transferring this figure.

alken.....where did you find Gen 4 Morph loader?...I googled and nothing came up.

however you mentioned you thought it wouldn't matter if I loaded the morphs without a "loader".....so are these different morph loaders just a faster way to load lots of morphs?

this is what I've tried to do....maybe you or someone else can tell me if it's correct

    1.load V4 base in Daz 4.6
    2.inject the required morph packs.
    3. in Parameters/Mesh Resolution change the figure to Base, and Subdivision level 0
    3.export through File/Export and save as a .cr2
4.import the .cr2 into GenX and inject the character morphs, etc.

I came across this tut that shows a way of transferring morphs into Genesis only using the Morph Loader Pro and will try this method as well

Sorry, what I'm using is called Power Loader. It opens up every time I load the V4 actor in DS 4.6. I'm not sure if it's part of DS or if I bought it with one of the V4 or M4 packages a while back.

alken....I've just checked and I do have the plugin Morph Loader installed and registered however I'm unable to find a way to open it up....is it supposed to open automatically?

however should the way I explained in my previous post transfer the character properly?

    thanx again

One of the packages with Victoria 4 or Michael 4 should eb the PowerLoader script that launches the dialogue - if it's installed you should see a scroll icon at top-left of the characters thumbnail in the Content panes. If you have the scroll but no dialogue you may have turned it off - hold down ctrl (Win)/cmd(Mac) while you double click to load a fresh Victoria 4/Michael 4 from the library to force it to show.

I just successfully transferred the GND4 character using the method I described in post # 11 of this thread but I still can't get the Anais character to transfer correctly.....are these both "custom" characters?....I mean if one works shouldn't both of them transfer properly?

edit: what I meant to ask are both of these characters identified as "custom" or is one a "dialed in" which may explain why one works while the other won't.
