"Visual Storytelling" (AKA No Dialogue)

A short article from Videomaker Magazine on a favorite topic of mine, "no dialogue". No real surprises, but a nice refresher of the fundamentals. "The Artist" is the example, which I really like, another is "The Tripletts of Belleville". And large sections of "2001".

Steven Spielberg's college student film "Amblin" had no dialogue if I remember.

Sure enough. I had not heard of that one, thanks. Some interesting camera work:

    Hi ,
    I wanted to know :
The Vue has a post - render, does not work for the renderings rendercow
The Post Render Options panel with its settings is only available When rendering to screen . It is not available for renderfarm rendering or rendering to disk . the post -render always starts at the end of rendering , for correction , exposure etc. . etc. . , and I love it in vue .
I use vue10complete , or at least I'm trying to use ... If I use the rendercow I will lose this function for renders
My question is : a publisher of video as Ligthworks , hitfilms have all these functions , the post -render the Vue , which gives that " cinematic coloring " vue ?

    One other thing :
I'm trying to bring genesis in vue , the only remaining problem solving me now are the textures that care about gray areas and kind of out of place, for example, the texture of the mouth usually go down and creates a spot between the lower lip and chin.
But all this only in vue , while the poser everything works well :

I have only recently heard of "Hitfilm" and have no experience. But I do agree the feature in Vue is very nice. Vue is my second favorite program after Carrara. I generally use if for still renders to use as backdrops/backgrounds in Carrara, with "shadow catchers" to make the animated figures look like part of the same scene.

I have not tried this in a long time, and didn't have much luck back then. That's why I use the approach mentioned above. You might check the Cornucopia3D Forums, they do talk about Poser/Vue:

    "shadow catchers"??
This is possible also for Poser Pro2012?
Is it possible to bring beautiful sceneries of vue on backdrops / backgrounds, and integrate with Genesis in Poser and make animations, too?
Because if I was not able to solve my problem with the textures of genesis in vue, I'll get arrested in poser, even.

I haven't used Poser in a while, but a quick Google search seems to show it is available. I use it a lot in Carrara, with animations using Poser figures. Here is a tutorial:

Note that you can use more complex shapes than just planes, by building simple models from primitives that roughly match the background image.
