Error Message in Daz Studio 4.5

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hello everyone, I would like to ask you to please help me with an issue I faced just yesterday.
I tried to load a character (.duf file) for the first time in a new clear scene (Daz Studio 4.5) and got an error message that I've never seen before.

After trying to find an answer within this forum without success I thought it would be a good idea to post a new topic on this subject asking for help to me and other Daz addicts as well.

The error message is as follows:

AN ERROR OCURRED WHILE READING THE FILE, SEE THE LOG FILE FOR MORE DETAILS.

I checked the log file and got the following error message (it repeats itself like 20 times successively).:

JSON INTERPRETER WARNING: UNEXPECTED NUMERIC MEMBER: DEFAULT_IMAGE_GAMMA

JSON PARSER (3207,18). UNEXPECTED END OF FILE IN STRING.
ERROR READING FILE, SEE LOG FOR MORE DETAILS

The funny thing is, the character does not load at all and the pop up window gives me the above error message but some of the props that came as part of the product do load normally but some give me the above error message as well !?!

Even though the character does not depend on any Genesis base mesh, I remark that I do have the ESSENTIALS installed and fully working with other characters so I guess that that would not be the problem.

Could anyone help me, please?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert in version 4.5/4.6 of DAZ|Studio, but my first question, which may help those who do use this latest version of DS identify what the problem is.

Exactly what character are you trying to load into the scene. It's possible others have had similar problems with the same character, and knowing which character you're having problems with, will help them give you informed answers.

It sounds as if a close bracket is missing, causing the interpreter to see something as a number which shouldn't be and making it think there should be more fiel than there is. Can you upload the file and post a link, assuming the content is all DAZ Studio assets rather than converted files in other formats.
