how to utilize focus targets to move around large scene?

Some large scene's have focus targets to help you get around faster.

how do you use them?

    I haven't seen any of these myself, but, select the focus target in the Scene pane, and press the View Frame button at the top of the Viewport.

    You can select any item in the Scene, and use that button to focus on it.
