To Carrara or Not to Carrara?

Could someone tell me in detail what level of support Carrara offers for Genesis 1 and 2 figures (Male and Female), and what level of support I could expect from it in terms of AutoFit performance and Genesis1/2 clothing, as well as what sort of support it has for legacy figures and Poser stuff, such as Victoria 4, the Daz dragons, etcetera? I’ve wanted to try Carrara for some time, but have held back because I’ve gotten somewhat conflicting answers on the question of just what exactly it supports doing with what, and though $172 is a steal for such an advanced piece of software, I need to know what all it supports before I take the plunge. I used a version of Carrara Pro 8.5 on a friend’s computer some time back (a few months ago) and was impressed with the interface — it’s gorgeous, and just right for a mid-level beginner — but got frustrated because it didn’t seem to support some things, and it seemed to crash a lot when loading scenes from Daz Studio that relied heavily on legacy content. The main reason I’m so curious about it is because I also use Autodesk Maya for more advanced things than Daz Studio currently supports, and Carrara seems like it would make a nice “bridge” app to sort of, well, bridge the gap between the two programs in terms of scene creation and whatnot. My thanks to anyone who can give me some answers here! :D
