Supermarine Spitfire (Mark IV)

I've searched high and low for a 3D model of what is arguably the most beautiful and famous airplane in history, but alas only a handful of 3D models from third party sites exist. Also, rather bizarrely, there are many models of Luftwaffe planes online (many as freebies).
In general, I think there is a very limited selection of airplanes and vehicles in general in Daz. I understand that Daz is specifically a human modeller, but I find its Iray rendering engine incredibly powerful and easy to use, so perhaps it could be *more* than just a posing tool.
Just my thoughts :)

Here is a link to a beautiful free Poser model of a Spitfire MkV (sorry not the IV) that was made ny Anders Leczcjak. Here has many free aircraft on his site. The download link is at the bottom.
I see the 109 (and Kittyhawk, Corsair and Zero), but not the Spit, am I missing something?
Ds isn't a human modeller, it's a posing, rendering and animation app. You would need an actual modeling program like Carrara, Hexagon, Blender or Maya to make new mesh objects and UVMap them.

You can either use a modeling app like blender to get it into OBJ format to import into DS or get one already in OBJ format to import into DS. Prices are global 3d market value, not DAZ market value. Hope that helps
Any chance you could try inserting the link again? Cheers :)
The 109? Close indeed. If you consider putting on the RAF motifs on it, it would be a winner :D
(Just out of curiosity, are authentic models of historic vehicles permitted by Daz studio?)
I stand corrected!
But yeah, the prices for some of the higher quality models are pretty steep. Heck, I'm even considering building one on Blender from scratch and get Spitfire schematics off Google. This will be a labour of love!
Awesome, best of luck in Blender. I have built several aircraft for flight Simulators in 3dsmax. the modelling was the fun part, making it accurate wasn't, LOL
let us know how it goes.
The Anders Lejzczak freebie that nabob21 mentions can be found here...

There's a freebie Mark II here: https://sharecg.com/v/38638/browse/5/3D-Model/Detailed-Spitfire and the same artist has a couple of other models too.
PS. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Spitfire_(early_Merlin-powered_variants) there doesn't appear to have ever been a Spitfire Mark IV.
Thanks for the links, much appreciated.
On a side note... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Spitfire_(Griffon-powered_variants)
:)
Expect some renders soon - I'll publish under my profile
Thank you so much! They look like they're very high quality (despite being free)!
actually there was a Spitfire IV... I drove one for several years.
---
the model was by National7 (pretty sure) who has done a great collection of older and classic cars and trucks.
Can someone please re-share this model, all links on the page are dead.
Thanks!
legally the only one that can share the model is Anders Lejzczak. Since the download seems to be down, it may have been taken offline by the author.
I will probably reach author himself directly. Thank you for your help. Regards.
The mark IV was an unarmed photoreconnaisance aircraft. It relied entirely on speed to evade the enemy.
Cheers,
Alex.
Best part, when you paint it in its actual PRU colour, many people will call it sacrilege, not knowing those things actually were baby pink.
