Include a layer function with jpg display ability

A tool to overlay a new layer of the viewport where you can import a jpg.  Opacity control so that when creating different objects using morphs you can get close to exact and can see the new layer and the original viewport..  See photoshop for example.

  • In what, Daz Studio? I'm not rally sure what you mean - 3Delight already has a way to do this through Shader Mixer, I don't think Iray does (and its shaders are more complex anyway) but you could do it in post work or by using a series of planes with images applied to them through the Surfaces pane. Photoshop isn't doing the same kind of work, so a direct analogy isn't possible.

    WARNING: Wild Guess ahead.

Sounds like they want to use Daz to mimic/copy/clone/recreate the face from a real persons' picture.

And wants to bring the picture into Daz and tweak the morphs to match the face.

Picture of face on front of viewport that you can see through.

3D Figure behind that, being tweaked.

  • ^In which case, just add a plane, add the picture to the diffuse channel in surfaces (then either make sure it's a square picture or scale the plane in x/y axis to match picture dimensions), then lower the cutout-opacity slider in surfaces to make it partially transparent. Rotate 90-degrees in the x-axis and position over your character's face.

(Or try Face-Transfer / Headshop / etc as that'd be easier if you get the results you want).
