Going from 2 installed versions of Studio (3 and 4.6) to one (4.6 only) - content copy/move..

Can I simply copy over my "Content" folders from the DS3 folders to the new 4.6 library folders?? How would I reset the content DB? Would deleting the db, (or archiving it) work? Would DS 4.6 recreate it?

Thanks

If you want to merge the content folders, make sure you merge what's UNDERNEATH "Content" with the folders UNDERNEATH "My Library" -- you want to make sure you don't end up with a folder named "Content" inside "My Library".

You can also keep the content folders separate and add the DS3 location as a second content folder.

If you've made custom categories, use Content DB Maintenance > Export User Data to back them up. The you can reset the content database and Re-Import Metadata to get the new locations correct.

You can keep DS3 installed alongside DS4.6 if you wish.

On my current PC I have DS3A 32bit installed DS3A 64bit, DS4.6.2 32Bit and DS4.6.2 64Bit and for Content I have a DS3/Content Folder and a DS4/My DAZ 3D Library Folder both. This all works well. In my DS3A paths it only points to my DS3 Content folder and in my DS4.6 I have it pointing to my DS4.6 Folder as my top listed Folder and my DS3 folder second. I have run into no issues. The reason I do this is to still be able to use my DS3 plugins for Background renders and Layers that I can not do in DS4.6 at this time.
