Paypal or some other online payment system dropped an art gallery because the art gallery hosted nude 2D and 3d artwork. I think the art gallery is hosted in central Europe. Said art gallery does not allow artistic nude art anymore.

Ok, so why not drop PayPal? Are they that important? I doubt it.

I find images of cute, cuddly kittens offensive...should we ban those too?

While we're at it, I'm sure that someone, somewhere would find offense with every image posted...so why not just do away with the gallery/product images/etc?

The company has set a policy based on something that could impact them, financially...and that's all there is to it.

    Does it make sense?

Not in the least, but then again, who ever accused the human race of being rational? Especially the American breed of humans...rationality is not a fundamental part of the modern American psyche...I think that comes from too many Twinkies and mind-altering TV commercials.

Where has Daz declared that they are a family friendly site?

Because there is blood in the image, or the focus of the image has big teeth and is sneering does not make it worthy of censoring because it might frighten those with a lesser stomach for nasty things. Just do not look at it if it frightens or insults you, none of those images you linked to were done in bad taste, and if they were offending to you that does not mean that it offended anyone else.
Actually, for your information they were rather tame compared to what is actually out there in the big bad internet.

As for the rules, nudity is something that is still taboo and looked down upon in the eyes of the corporations that this site deals with, that is why the rules are as they are.

Now please let us bury this poor old equine's body and be done with it, okay?

And some people use Paypal to make payments here, does that offend you as well?

I don't really have anything more to say about the topic. I think the tone in this thread has become uncivil.

I'm finding some of this a little hypocritical considering the main image on your daz gallery is a demon. >.>

I am not talking about movies, public events or ratings. Of course there are rules for that.
I am talking only about the gallery on the DAZ site! And about images like this:

    http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/22277/
    http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/22284/
    http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/17305/
    http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/4883/

Just a few examples. And I still want to know why images like these are allowed on a "family friendly" site, whereas artistic nudity is forbidden. I would definitely not allow my child to watch stuff like I linked above. Dont you think that these images also need content filters???

We rely on people reporting images via the report an image button in the galleries that they find offensive or that they feel violate the TOS. :) If any of you see anything you feel does violate the TOS that is in the galleries, please use the report button on the image itself to report it to the Gallery Moderation Staff as well as adding what rule you feel it violates or why you feel it should be pulled or feel free to PM me directly about anything on this topic you would like to discuss or point out. I am always more than happy to take a look into an issue. On these images, I will put reports on them in so they can be reviewed as looking through I don't see that anyone reported these. While the Gallery Moderation staff does go through the galleries to pull items against the TOS, nudity has simpler guidelines to follow than violence does. Violence is a bit more subjective. What is too violent on this site is often dictated by the members here while nudity there is a firm set of rules. Blood in general does not necessarily equal violence to some while it does to others. Physically seeing a violent act being done vs it being suggested rather than shown can or may not be violent to various people as well. Nudity is different..it relies on the unveiling of specific body parts. For this reason it is why you may see more images that may be "violent" over more with questionable "nudity" We rely on the member base to tell us what they feel violence is and honestly most people are generally ok with violence over nudity (at least going by reports here). To give you an example when an image with a boob exposed hits the gallery, we will get 2 to 5 reports on it. On the other hand, when an image where someone chopped off someone's head hits the gallery we may get one report or none. Comparing these, the members here are saying that the boob is not ok with them but the headless person is. :( We go by the reports...if you don't like it, report it please and we will look at it and discuss it and look to see what other reports there were etc. and based on those thing we decide on whether to pull it or not pull it.

While on this topic, please note, a completely different set of people moderates the Galleries from those moderating the forums so mentioning it in the forums will not get the image reviewed or pulled as the forum moderators are not responsible for the Galleries.
