actually, hmm, y'know how you have to go into the option pane to set it to luxus, does that switch store in the .duf files?

i loaded those 2 plane lights that came with luxus and the 'option pane-luxus' isn't toggled.

but, if the duf files can store the luxus shader bricks, - totally confunded

The Luxus material settings, for this particular product, are stored in DUF file, so there will not be a seperate folder. When you send the DS file through Luxus to render in LuxRender, Luxus will automatically see the included Luxus materials and apply them. All the information for Luxus is visible in the surfaces tab, scroll down to the bottom.
It should be as easy as load your lamp in DS, and send to Lux. The interface is very cool in that DS will ignore the Luxus stuff if you are rendering in 3Delight and Luxus will ignore the DS settings if Luxus settings are included. One DUF file covers both render engines. Shout if you still have issues.
    cheers!

so i don't need to do any toggling in the light options pane? just activate the lux renderer?

    sounds simple.

i should try one of those rings of lights too then.

    Thanks.

Correct, on the Lights and Lamps you will not need to do any toggling to get the lamps to be real lights in LuxRender. You don't have to do any manual set up to use them as light sources in DAZ Studio either. IG has done it all. The shader presets for the materials included with the Lights and Lamps, and all of the ones in DG Shader Essentials 2 are built the same way (except the glass in SE2 which auto convert really well). They have DS and Luxus optimized materials all in the same file, and the program will pull the correct one. IG has a user guide in Lights and Lamps if you need to refer to it on how to adjust the intensity, or utilize the morphs on the lamp shade or what not, and you can always PM him directly too.

Ring of Light is my favorite. I use it in all my promos these days. So easy to use.
