face rig question

How many does the Daz models have?

Ones that I would liek to know would be

V4 & M4
Genesis
Genesis 2 Female & Genesis 2 Male

My 3-d modeler was looking at them for me, to see if the face rig would be good enough, he said it was the models were strange and only had 4 joints in the face (not including the neck)

And he said the average good face rig would be 62-64...so I can see why he's confused.

DAZ figures use morphs. The faces are NOT rigged.

Not sure what you want rigged. Other than the temporal mandibular, there aren't any other joints in in the face. Muscles, yes but joint's, no. Morphs simulated muscle movement.

I suppose you could use weight mapping in place of morphs to simulate muscle movements.

probably because the DAZ model is being used outside of the intended DAZ app and models designed for game use tend to use rigging for expressions. I have quite a few game only models and all use rigging for expressions/facial movements

Spent way too much time in A & P courses during my MFA. "Bones" in the face still seems a bit odd.
