HD addons promo pics comparisons... look the same to me

When I look at the promo pics for say Olympia 6 HD addon or Stephanie 6 HD addon....where they show a series of standard resolution next to the HD resolution... for the life of me I just don't see the changes... with what is supposed to be 64 times more detailed I would expect maybe fingerprints or detailed skin variations.... but my old failing eyes can hardly see any difference in the side by side comparisons.

Oddly enough the knee seems to show the difference most clearly on the textureless versions that are used for the promos, knuckles are another area to look at. Side-by-side comparisons with textures might be more revealing as to the ultimate effect, but I can understand why they wanted the textureless versions for promos

There is a definite effect, but it's far more subtle than 64x might imply.

I have exceptionally good vision (20/16) and I don't see any difference either - at least not enough to justify the cost of admission. I suppose if you render high resolution close ups there might be some discernable difference, but otherwise it seems to be much ado about nothing.

However, it looks like RawArt might have made something of it. I'd love to see his "Wither" character done side by side in HD and standard. I think that would be much more telling than a smooth female face.

Though for me, none of this matters until Carrara supports HD.

As well as the extra details on knuckles and knees I see a general increase in sharpness in the HD morphs.

I bought the first pack, because that also came with textures. Without textures, the HD packages aren't a good enough value for me to justify picking them up. Your mileage may vary. :-)

I do notice the difference, but I don't always want that level of fidelity, especially if the camera isn't close to the figures.

There are subtle differences that I can see in most. It does help if you are going for real and believable as the way the light hits will make it seem more like a real person. They are best for closeup or medium shot work. The best comparison would be to realistic textures that have more detail. If you're a PC member, the discount makes it a good deal.

Actually if you look at the Victoria 6 HD add on it does come with textures. Stephanie does not but maybe in the future as an update?

I am certain that in an experienced persons hands, the HD add ons make a big difference. Overall. i got it for both since it was discounted for P Club. On the other hand perhaps what you might be looking for is this:
