Dammit Silene, now I have to wipe drool off my keyboard! Sadly I'm not allowed the starch, but roast tatties sloshed in meat-juices gravy are to me like the smell of bacon is to a vegetarian - temptation almost beyond endurance!

That recipe, all the way up to the flour, but excluding the flour, sounds like the way we make brussel sprouts! Olive Oil... yeah! I pinch of black pepper... bake 'em till they're slightly black on the outer leaves... and enjoy the super-delicious crunchy as nature's supper candy melts in your mouth! Believe it or not... doing that with... oh this sounds bad... radishes is amazing! But even better on the grill.

We go through potatoes pretty good. We both love 'em, and we both know many ways to make them. But I must say, I've never made them quite like that - but I will... soon!

Potatoes yossed in olive oil, combined with seasonings to taste and put in a grill safe pan, then slow roasted out on the grill. Couple that with some slow smoked pork roast.....

Sadly it's pretty sloppy out here at the moment. I don't think I'll be able to do a proper grilling until at least mid-April. I still have 3 feet of snow in most of my yard!

Dart, Wow would not have thought of it...I love sprouts, they are a Christmas Dinner staple over here. Might have to try that when they are back in season. We buy them on the stalks then.

EP... I remember when we lived in New England our friends used to take slices of potatoes, onions and oil and wrap in a flattish foil packet and put on the bbq. He called them Boy Scout Potatoes...and they are yummy! Great with steamed lobster and corn on the cob. My back better get fixed....I need some of that lobster and it's a 6 hour flight to get to it at a reasonable price! (Now even I can see the irony in that comment ;) )

Just trying to keep this thread bumped....when I wake up from surgery tomorrow I expect to see a big freakin announcement!!!!!

I wasn't in the Boy Scouts, but the concept is common to everyone who has gone to a youth camp in the US. Traditionally you would wrap your stuff in the foil (in 4-H we would also add ground beef) and place in the campfire to cook it.

That is a regular part of our diet now. What with that Big Red Akorn now... we love the yummy freshness of grill cooking. Evilproducer's brother (twin) has a grill just like mine - and is an expert at cooking gigantic masses of fresh meat! :) Yum!

Steamed Lobster? Okay now I'm really hungry!

Rosie and I eat brussel sprouts all throughout the year. Yum! We call them Nature's Supper Candy! LOL
Well, 'cause they're so sweet and yummy!
EP, we should go raid your bro's house soon. Experiment with Lobster on that bad ankle grill of his... he probably already has a technique down already for us! Maybe we can have Gars Man fly over by Silene and have him drag her recovery butt to WI for some Nummies!!! :ahhh:
Hey... grab Phil while he's over there? And send a boat to Australia for Wendy and HeadWax... and... hey... let's have a huge All Carraraist Party at your brother's house! Get the whole Carrara Forum bunch all together as Wisconsin's snow melts to fresh magic under the warm spring sun!

If it helps, I've got a 16 pound brisket in the freezer just waiting to be smoked in my barrel smoker. There's a dead apple tree in my yard waiting to make its contribution to the smoking operation. ;-)

Hope everything goes well at the hospital. Do you get to go home today to enjoy whatever is announced or do you have to stay a night or two?

Either way, there are potatoes on the menu!

The notice of delay uses the plural "our" and "we" so this announcement seems to be from a group. Really trying to take apart these messages, aren't I!

    A product launch?
A movie created entirely in Carrara?
    Free potatoes for life?
A 4K sized banner proclaiming "April Fools!"?

Releasing the CAR file with bowl, knife, potato groups. Hopefully all materials saved properly.

note: No HDR FILE - doesn't belong to me, but is commercial

Wow. That's a lot of potatoes.

Just got home from overnight stay...they didn't serve roast potatoes!!! My husband will have to make them for tomorrow night, having mac and cheese tonight.

A am a bit woozy.... didn't get much sleep least night with those leg air pump things whooshing and clicking all night to day prevent DVT! So will be out of it today !

So there you are, the big announcement, I survived the surgery...now my whole bum hurts. Howzat!!???

The nerve was stuck like chewing gum to the herniated disc and he had to scrape it off with blunt instrument then sew up nerve shealth/tunnel. UGH...wasn't straightforward at all. Sore bum and both upper legs hurt now, but it's an achey pain vs knives sticking into me at random times. This I can live with whilst I get physio - therapy. Will be ready for Bristol Half Marathon in September! (yeah right).

Now someone please find out what AD really knows??????

    xx :-P Silene

ETA Thanks Eddy, Holly and Persona for the good wishes!
