Problems - Layered Image Editor

Okay, I have just purchased the Wet overlays for M5/V5 and I can't get the layers to work on various products. I understand that the layers will not work with some non-DAZ textures, but they do not work with certain DAZ texture products, such as the standard textures that came with M5/V5. This is not the first time I have run into problems with Layered Image Editing; other products that I have purchased from DAZ do not work or cause the system to freeze/crash when I try to attach them to a character. What am I doing wrong?

On a side note, does DAZ 4.6 have a actual Layered Image Editor? I have seen screen shots of this option, but cannot find it on DAZ 4.6.

My system is a 64 bit Windows 8.1; I am using DAZ 4.6. Thank you.

Select a texture, go to the Surfaces pane, use the little triangle at the side of the slider to get a drop down menu, and select LIE from there.
