L-systems in a brush?

Hi again, sorry I have to repost without mentioning products. I am wondering if there are paint programs that include L-systems -styled foliage systems in the brush. Anyone have knowledge of any?
Or, short of L-systems based, something non-recursive in algorithmic sense, particle based.
I hope this makes sense.

there is a fractal program that does this - sorry don't have link any more
Maybe this one is what you are looking for:

If you're looking for ideas check this page: http://hypertextbook.com/chaos/92b.shtml (all Mac programs, though).
There's supposed to be a program called L Parser made by Laurens Lapre, quite a bit cited on the web because it makes 3D L-systems, but it seems to have disappeared off the edge of the world. I have only been able to find this which is derived from L Parser: http://krasnow1.gmu.edu/cn3/L-Neuron/index.htm
According to this presentation: http://www.docstoc.com/docs/109677483/L-System-_-Particle-System , POV-Tree relies on a L-system as well (I didn't know that!). POV-Tree is coded in Java and can be found there: http://arbaro.sourceforge.net/
There is also this plug-in for The Gimp: http://registry.gimp.org/node/14690
thanks, good point, I'll extend my searches to include 'fractal' with paint and such.
oh that's so funny. close but no dice. It doesn't have rules based evolution per each branching.
Interesting links. Seeing some good stuff there but nothing that's painting, i.e. attached to the mouse. Gimp was promising but that too is a filter. It renders. It's not attached to the brush to do its magic as you engage in painting. (for example to follow the mouse and react to its direction changes or pressure to some extent). That's what I'm looking for, something that has this kind of plant stuff attached to the brush so you can paint it and influence its growth.
Hi Philip,
I used L-system a lot in Fractint (fractal proggy) and got really pretty results. It's quite a few years ago I worked last time with Fractint but they still use L-systems (updated). I remember I liked a lot all dragons and branching bushes coming from that programme. They could grow and grow...LOL...They made really interesting and cool fractals, very original shapes and so on. :)
You may check first Fractint tut here: http://www.nahee.com/spanky/www/fractint/lsys/tutor.html
and here about lsystem bush: http://www.nahee.com/spanky/www/fractint/lsystem_type.html
I'm not sure but may be you'll find something interestlng here. It's about Lsystem language: http://www.fractalsciencekit.com/lsysprog/lsysprog.htm
Fractint's homepage: http://www.nahee.com/spanky/www/fractint/fractint.html

PS
Edited - from those links I just posted above, you'll get plenty of links to other sites. Some of them looked really interesting. May be you'll find something for you among them?...
PD-Particles are based on another system and are fun on it's own as well. :)
Thanks Teresa, but did any of these have the L-System attached to the painting brush?
No Philip, I don't think so....:-/
But may be in those links (from my links...LOL...) you'll find a way to a site with some info about possibility of using L-System with brushes.
My advice is to post your questions on other 2D or PS forums. May be on one of Rendo Forums?
ok no problem. I'll check.
And yep already did on rendo.
Ciao
