G2F - G1 Pose / Expression Question

Not sure if this has been talked about before but a short question, why is it that I can use G2F poses and expressions on G1, but I can't use G1 expressions on G2F?

Probably a silly Q but it has me wondering why one can go one way and not the other with certain poses and so on..
