Having noticed that some characters have quite the collection of stuff on the Shading Tab ...
Is it possible and/or how is it possible to have 2 "Shading Domain" sets for one item of [in this case] clothing.
I know how to get 2 uvmap sets to show but so far drawing a blank on adding in a 2nd Shading Domain set.

Not sure what you mean by shading domain, if you mean material zones, or adding more than one shader preset to an item?
Clarify more please
you can create or remove them with the polygon group editor but think would need saving as seperate clothing assets but can indeed share the same uv mapping.
Okay, I'll try explaining this better.
I made one dress. It has a uvmap of course and a set of Shading Domains [named material areas that show up on the Surface Tab].
I made some morphs for the dress.
Decided it needed another uvmap so made one.
On the Surface Tab one can select which uvmap template they want to use on the dress.
In making the 2nd uvmap, I also created different Shading Domains [using Hexagon].
One can edit D/S files manually so that a clothing item can have 2 or more uvmaps to choose from ...
Is there some way I can get a choice option also for which set of Shading Domains are to be used?
No, the settings of which UV set to use is a surface ("shading domain") setting, so the surfaces come first and can't be edited that way.
You can't have switchable shading domains, but you can have a second set of shading domains for an item, but you need to do that entirely in DS, and only when your item is in the DSON format and being loaded into the scene from a DUF file.
Like this you can change the surface groups (shading domains) with the Polygon Group Editor, however you can only save these changes as a scene or subset and possibly a material preset, the changes would be saved directly into that DUF file, and will only be accessible from that file. If you were to save it back to the items main DSF asset file (save modified asset), then it's odds on that you will break the asset file and have to start over.
oookay. Thank you.
