Problem setting up ERC chain?

I'm on OSX, Carrara 8.5. my ERC folder is dated Sept 11 2010

I cannot get to the Children screen. The button turns yellow to show it has been clicked, but the window does not update.

Is there a newer version of ERC (hopefully)?

There was a newer download in the store, ERC v 1.0.2.5 dated Oct 3 and Dec 8, 2011.... But the same issue. I cannot get past the above screen grab. I cannot get to the Children settings window.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

ERC hasn't been updated, no. And no, you shouldn't need to do anything special.

EDIT: I'm guessing you're trying a DUF-loaded item, either Genesis or one of its add-ons. This seems to be working fine with traditional content, but I just tried and got the same behavior with DUF.

Nevermind. After you add the first item, you have to go to the little list and select it before you hit "add children". I just frustrated myself a bit failing to do that, then I frustrated myself trying to make the list box automatically select the item for you. Can't do it, so it stays annoying, sorry.

In short: Go click on "Tail1" up there, so it gets yellow indicators next to it, then hit "Add Children"

It's the Millenium Cat, not a new or Genesis figure.

I select the first bone of the tail and go EDIT -> Fenric _. Make ERC CHAIN
and get the first dialog to select the control target

I select the 1st bone of the tail. This is accepted.

Per Faba's tutorial I do not select anything in the next screen

Then I am back in the Create interface and click Add Children.

This is where it hangs....

Oh wait, I have to click Tail1 in the ERC window...? Now I seem to be able to proceed to the next screen....

Ahh, brilliant! Yes working now. Very simple thing I missed in Faba's tutorial.

And yes (as you discovered), I meant in the ERC dialog.
