Copying Bone/Skelington structure from one figure to another?

I was watching this video here: Aut-Rigging and I had a thought: is there a way to copy a rigged figures bone structure and skelington onto say: an imported .obj figure, and use a method like this to quickly rig up a character in DAZ? So far I've only learned to rig in Carrara (Soooo easy!). If I could import a ton of bones all at once, then adjust them it seems like it'd be a win for some cool free model characters available out there that are simple .obj files with no mesh/uv/bones.... I have no idea where to start with this in DAZ though, if it's even possible.

AutoRig, as far as I know, relies on knowing where the bones are in the base shape and then moving them to have the same relationship to the adjusted shape. If you are wanting to have an arbitrary OBJ and adjust the bones to fit that you aren't going to have that initial relationship. However, if you OBJ is grouped and you use the Figure Setup pane then the bones will snap to the bounding boxes of the groups which can at least start the process, as long as you have the order of rotation correct, and you cans ave templates for Figure Setup.

Hmm, ok cool. that sounds like a start. Thanks for the reply! Making adjustments shouldn't be too hard, there will be a lot of little tweaks here and there but it shouldn't be an issue if I use that as a rough template.
