Furry Werewolf Texture?

Are there any really furry textures available for any of the werewolves out there? I've collected them all over time (RAW Lycan, Lycanthropos, Manitou, etc.) but they're all either furless or with such short fur it's barely noticeable. Are there any textures or wolfmen figures out there (that can be used in Poser) that actually look like wolves with real fur?

Umm...isn't that what the Hair Room and Poser Dynamic hair is for?

Displacement mapped fur can only go so far and transmapped hair will be a nightmare to set up (both getting all the layers and for rendering). Fibremesh would be unreal when it comes to polycount...

So that leaves the Poser dynamic or the two curve based Studio options. All of which, for the most part, are DIY solutions.

The wife was just messing around with fibermesh grass yesterday and for just a fairly small patch it was over 100k poly. I'll take the transmapped over poly any day.

At least one of the RawArt Genesis characters has hair presets for Look at My hair, but that doesn't help Poser users.

I'm sure it's doable in Poser but I don't know how to do it myself, and at the moment I don't have the time to learn or to do a lot of trial and error. That's why I was wondering if any such figure or mat pose already exists. If not then I'll manage as best as I can with what's available.

This doesn't actually help you, since sanctumarts left the community ages ago, but he made the greatest of the werewolves: http://www.poserpedia.com/index.php?title=Sanctum_Art

Agreed and I kick myself every time I see it that I didn't pick it up when I had the chance.

Those are pretty awesome werewolves; it's a shame that he's not involved anymore! For my part, I'm in need less of monsters and werebeasts and more in need of a character that looks like an actual wolf in humanoid form rather than a werewolf. Haven't found one of those for the 3D world yet and probably never will. I assume most people want the monsters :-)

Something like the Manitou would probably work if I could make it furrier. Maybe I'll just have to postwork some shaggier fur in...I'll see what I can do!

*EDIT* - Hmm...guess someone else is looking for the same thing: Wolf People

Well, since that last thread, philosphersegg has made wolf people: http://philosophersegg.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=37

Thanks, Joequick. I checked it out and those are cute, and I like that they work with M4/V4. Unfortunately, it's still a bit too cartoonish for what I need. What I desperately want is something like a Canim from the Codex Alera books, like this or this.

The Manitou is probably my best bet if I can find a way to make him look shaggier. I could see if swapping the character's skin for a fur texture with displacement map will be sufficient, although those tend to just look poofy. And I can probably make Little Dragon's bushy tail work with the figure. Like I said, worst case scenario I can try to postwork a bit of extra fur around the visible body parts. I'll have to do a bit of trial and error and see what happens.

The Lycanthropos has an option for hair and I have morphs that make it more wolflike so maybe those could help.

Okay, I was indeed able to get the Manitou figure to look acceptably furry, so the problem is solved. It's not exactly what I wanted but I can use it.

However, I was hoping to use the Warlord outfit with it and on the Manitou page it shows the character wearing a nice cool version of the armor. However, if I look at Xurge's site to purchase the set, it only shows one version, which has textures that are not quite as nice. Does anyone know if the texture used in the Manitou promo is available anywhere?
