Gnolls

We need gnolls. Well, I need gnolls, anyway. My life simply will not be complete without gnolls.

I'd take a crack at creating a gnoll based on G8 myself, but I'm not sure how exactly to go about that. For example, would it be possible to graft the head of https://www.daz3d.com/hyena onto G8 in a program like mudbox? I would make lots of modifications, of course, but that would give me a good starting point.

I created this character using products available on this site, but I'm not entirely satisfied with her:

I don't know about mudbox, but you can certainly do it in Blender. There is a modifier: shrinkwrap where one object will try to take the form of the other object.

So if you overlap the heads and define it properly, you could do it.

I would create the basic morph for you, as it isn't complicated but I don't have the hyena :(.

Another option would be to play around with HFS fantasy morphs (https://www.daz3d.com/hfs-ultimate-shapes-bundle, he also has some for G3).

This is a quick gnoll-like shape I did in like 10 minutes:

  • That's not too bad. It would be passable as a gnoll with the right skin/fur textures. How did you do that in just 10 minutes?

The morph pack I linked contains creature morphs like dog, ogre, troll and so on. I made a combination with mostly dog and a little of the others.

I didn't use any reference to model it and haven't seen Gnolls since Heroes 3 so I am sure you could be a lot more accurate with the morphing.

I will humbly suggest the FelineFolk as a base.

Here's G8M FelineFolk with the head dialed out and replaced with HFS Dog, Tortie skin (which is the least obviously catlike)

(I also added BodyBuilder and Heavy to bulk him out a little)
