Using V4 and M4 costumes in Studio 4.6
Am interested in experimenting with Trek figures so downloaded the free Studio package and all installed correctly and working. Most of the free Trek costumes on shareCG etc seem to be for V4 and M4 (Courageous and Valiant). I've installed a couple of these outfits and show up in Content Library ok (under Poser), but there doesn't seem to be any way to apply them to figure (either double-clicking or drag-and-drop).
I'm sure I'm just missing something elementary :-)
Any newbie advice appreciated....

It sounds like you have downloaded texture sets for Courageous or valiant, you need the figures as well for these to work.
Yes you need the Courageous and Valiant clothing items to put the textures on.
Thanks for responses so far.
So from looking at products page, I assume I need to purchase M4 and V4, and then the Courageous and Valiant packages also? Then load the V4 figure, and add the clothing/textures as necessary?
Also, will V4 outfits work on newer models such as V6?
I've also noticed that my install (Win 64-bit) seems to be slightly different from some earlier directories mentioned in readmes.
C:\users\myname\My Documents\Daz3D\Studio\My Library
But as I said, everything shows up ok, and content manager points to this location. Do I need to do anything else, as the Trek downloads seem to be manual installs.
thanks again.
If you're planning to use them Genesis 2 Female/V6, you just need "Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female" to use V4 clothing on V6. You don't need to buy V4, just the Courageous outfit. Similarly for G2M and Valiant.
For Genesis the V4 M4 clothing is supported automatically. As just said for G2 figures you need the Figure shapes and then the clothing will work on them. You do not need the V4 or M4 figures to use just the clothing. That is the good part. All you need is the clothing and they can work on Genesis 1, get the V4 M4 shapes for G2 and then the clothing works on them also.
Thanks for all advice so far. I'll get round to experimenting and post feedback if still issues.
But one thing just noticed re: install directories....
Although I do have the C:\users\myname\My Documents\Daz3D\Studio\My Library folder , have just noticed there's no content in it. Everything seems to be defaulting to:
C:\users\public\public documents\My Daz 3D Library
Content Manager points to this, and as I said, everything seems to load ok. I suspect it might have been created by Daz Install Manager.
Only question really is, should I keep this setup, or change installs/links back to C:\users\myname\My Documents\Daz3D\Studio\My Library ?
All DIM installed content defaults to the My DAZ 3D Library. There is no reason to do anything, both folders are fine just as you are now.
So with manual install folders (like the free shareCG stuff|), should I install that content to the relevant folders in My Daz 3d Library? Where as I said everything seems to be anyway.
Thanks for everyone's patience with newcomer :-)
Some people use My DAZ 3D Library only for content installed with DIM, and My Library for other content, but I put everything in one.
Yes, I'd like to keep all mine in one too. As just starting out, not a lot (but sure will grow). It's just a case of which one.
EDIT: update. Perhaps pictures can help with issue here. Loaded Victoria 4 for Gen female. Added EZ Casual for V4 outfit, which is base for trek costume. Needed to fit to model, but so far so good.
Under Poser Formats/mylib/Props, found belt, badge, etc. Again no problem to add.
The only thing that resembles the trek costume is a pz2 file under Pose Formats/mylib/Pose...but when I double-click on it, rt click, etc, nothing happens. The textures for outfit seem to under stored in Runtime/Textures, but there's no clear instructions how these are applied to base mesh. (3ds Max is a lot easier in comparison :-). )
Again, any advice welcome.
