I am considering a contest/commission for Hiro Toon/Aiko Toon users but would like to take a poll of just how many users there are.

For this contest, you would need:
Hiro Toon: http://www.daz3d.com/hiro-toon
Hiro Toon Faces: http://www.daz3d.com/hiro-toon-faces
Hitoro: http://www.daz3d.com/hitoro
- AND/OR -
Aiko Toon: http://www.daz3d.com/aiko-toon
Aiko Toon Faces: http://www.daz3d.com/aiko-toon-faces
Kioki: http://www.daz3d.com/kioki

No other figures can qualify. So if there are some of you that qualify and you're interested in making a little money, let me know by simply posting a comment stating your interest. I will contact you via pm with further details.

Got them all but it's years ago since I've used them. Might be interested, depends on what it's all about.

I have them both. Curious what your idea is but I am not sure if I have the time.

What I had planned was for a group of individuals to make me some random unique HiroToon and AikoToon characters, of which i would pay per character generated. But then i thought, with me using a much older version of DS (DS2.3), how would those participants get me the characters they created?

...I actually still have Studio 2.3 installed on my notebook, just not the older version of the figures. If I weren't so broke I'd consider picking up least the AkioToon content

I am only working with the newer figures and hardly have anything bought or installed beneath generation 5 :(

I have a copy of DS 2.3 and a practically no longer used XP installation on my rendering machine so technically it's no problem.

The issue I am still not sure on... once you create a character with the products above, how could you get that character to me?

You have to also own all those packages. If I'm recalling correctly the character can be saved via a Pose preset(s).

I definitely own those products. I checked my DS and it makes a .dsb file. Maybe I can get someone to test that out.

But what if the user was a Poser user? How could they distribute their characters?

As a Character Preset I guess? I've made one in DS 2.3 you can try, there's a screenshot of the rendered face for comparison and a preset file plus a thumbnail file in the zip.

Load Aiko Toon, inject the Aiko Toon Faces morphs, and with Aiko selected drop the "aiko_toon_test_01.dsb" file onto the scene.

Looks like it works pretty well; Before and After renders below. But does this mean i will be limited to only DS2.3 generated *.dsb files?

I had a little issue with it not finding the eye textures and i had to locate them manually, but thats a small price to pay given what i need.

I've tried to import the preset into DS 4.6 / 64, and it seems to work, except that I also get a problem with the eyes:
"Could not find 3duAikoEyeRGreen.jpg." It's the same runtime so I don't know why that is. My DS 2.3 is a beta (2.3.3.146_Win), maybe it has a bug.

I've also tried to make a Character Preset in DS 4.6, but it's not possible with Aiko Toon, apparently it only works with TriAx Weight Mapped figures. Maybe there is another way to do it in 4.6, I don't know.

As for Poser, there should be a way to export a character preset also, but I haven't tried it before.

I've got them all as well but am a Poser user too. I do have this up for download - partial face presets to mix and match for Aiko3 and Kioki morphs. You and anyone else is free to use it to create a character. I'm pretty sure these work in DS once all the morphs are injected but would like to know for sure if anyone gets around to using it :)

So, you would only need a pose injection of the character and plan on using the default textures?

For my purposes, this will only work for the body, not the face.

No, I will use textures that i have within my own library. Some, however, may use the default texture. So if you want to make diffuse color changes to match the characters created, those would be fine as well.
