Cannot seem to get rid of reflection in White Tiger eyes - SOLVED
I've been trying different surface settings for a couple of hours and still cannot figure out how to get rid of the white ball in my White Tiger's eye. I've played with Glossiness and Specular Strength for the Iris, Pupil and I think even the Eyeball itself.
There is only 1 light hitting the tiger's eye and it is a bounce light below the tiger at like 45% intensity.
I had the same issue with the DAZ Big Cat Tiger and reducing Glossiness fixed it. Not sure what I'm missing here?

Did you remove the reflection map from the reflect channel assuming there is one plugged in to it.
I have run into similar results myself over the years, and I believe, though I can be wrong, the reflection is painted on the eye textures themselves, and no amount of adjusting nodes in the Surfaces tab will change it.
That said, however, you could probably bring the eye texture into a 2D app like Photoshop, PSP or Gimp and redo it so the reflection is gone. Then you can save it with your own file name, and point the eyes to your texture instead of the one that comes with the Big Cat Tiger.
Oh good point Frank, I assumed the reflection was painted on the texture itself (see my post above).
If there is a mapped reflect just remove the map and turn down the reflect
Miss B and Frank - never heard of a reflection map. Not sure off the top of my head how to find that but will look into that when I get back in front of the system tonight.
Thank you both :-)
That how you tell if there is a map attached to a channel
Most of the time eye reflections are not the results of what one expect the settings to be...often they are painted on the eye texture map. Then the next most common is the 'reflection map'. And a distant 3rd place is actual specular highlights caused by the surface settings/lights in the scene....and even further back are 'environmental'...the 'true' reflections of the surrounding scene/environment.
Perfect! Thank you both!
I found no reflection map in the Surfaces settings.
I finally opted for Miss B's solution (albeit a newbie's version) - I brought the image into PSP and just painted over the reflection. Miss B's solution is better 'cause I could do the painting once and then use my revised version in every scene using White Tiger in but I could not determine where the file for the surface was.
Regardless, the reflection will be gone in my final image. Thank you all!
