You can make your own Builder sets with thr Dungeon Set Builder that comes with the product, the included one are pre built sets definitions I made to give everyone a kick start.
Looks like Silvertorn works, the proportions are right anyway, will build a builder set and post here, and show a renderr soon.
Don't have that either, can ask TangoAlpha about it, he knows how me modelled it.
From TangoAlpha: "It's not squares. There's various different lengths of things, in multiples of 2m, if I remember: 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m"
Basically - the set needs to built from Square floors and ceilings, and walls needs to have the width of the side of the floor. Very few set really do that, but I guess a few more will soon popup that have that.
Silverthorn works, except I needed to tweak it a little (I will need to update the setbuilder to be able to tweak those things from the builder, good real world case.
Attched a set define for it (goes into /data/BWCTotte/DMBData (needs to be unzipped first)
So anyone can now enjoy Silverthorn Castle in Dungeon Builder, will add that to the next update too
Updated the SilverThorn Castle Builder Set (gonna add a few for that with the next update)
Just implemented Set Export and Set Import as function in the script plus size adjust to fix the issues with Silverthorn and a few other sets where it could be gaps, easy to fix if you know how to edit the json files, but now implemented as a user function, now just have to add a 1.1 update to the manual to describe there functions.
I experimented with SquarePeg3D’s free Darkest Dungeon set yesterday, and even though the dimensions of some of the pieces are a little screwy, it MOSTLY works. It can’t figure out how to add ceilings, but that’s a pretty minor hurdle.
Select the third icon button ceiling, and add - but they need to me square, one dirty trick is to just create a saure plane (same size as floor, , add a texture and save if as a prop, the load that as a ceiling
I added ceilings, and that set uses the same tiles for floors and ceilings, so it’s not a matter of the dimensions not matching. It just doesn’t add the ceilings to the completed dungeons.
If it is the same prop, are they loaded on the floor level maybe? In that case use the ceiling height offset to set the to load above ground.
Here is the freebie: Darkest Dungeon - Sinister Structures - 100% FREE by squarepeg3d, I think...
That is the correct link. I’ll play around with ceiling height offset, but another possible explanation is that the walls are not all perfectly square at the top. They’re level, but some or all of them have little notches missing from the ends, and that might be confounding the script’s attempts to place ceilings atop them.
Then you can set the ceiling right where you want it, below the notches, I'll give it a test laters
The same author has another modular set called Modular Madness - Stable Builder, is it working too?
There are also a few free dungeon accessories like lights, to add to your scenes.
Nope, not even close to same sizes.
Tested it, works, just set the ceiling offset. As the walls are 376 high, set the ceiling at 350, see screenshot and quickrender
Awesome, thanks. Now to figure out what materials I want to use.
So, the modules needs to be exactly cubes.
It will be good to create a list with such items.
Would also like to see more renders created from Dungeon Builder, if possible.
Three scenes from my stories where the rooms are built with Dungeon Builder. (Doing mostly scifi story renders right now)
And yes, floor and ceiling must be square. The sets listed with support are those sets I have where I could fins at least a few square ceilings anf floors and also wals that has the same width as the floor.
Thanks, that are really good examples.
Looking for more...
Hey, Totte...if I bought the Dungeon Builder, and I use DIM to manage my products...is there a reason that my DB still shows that it's in 1.0? How do I get the update?
Also...if a set uses rectangular walls/floors...could someone use the Geometry editor function to stitch walls/floors that are rectangles into square sections, then save THOSE out as props that DB could use?
The current versions of the scripts are:
Dungeon Builder 1.0
Dungeon Generator 1.0.2
Dungeon Set Builder 1.1
For stiching, I would recommend placing two side by side, then export as obj, import the obj, reapply the materials and save out as a figure/prop.
Edit: Sorry for the last answer, the fourm does not post many notifications.
A little teaser, but my script to create a prop from two or more separate props, to create square walls from rectangular wall segments to use with Dungeon Builder is coming along nicely. It can of course be used for other things, like putting together props many other uses as well.
This example is two rectangular walls joined into one wall prop, materials are preserved of course.
Hi,
Just been playing making some props.
I do not know what your intentions are with this, if you are going to update the builder, or maybe release V2?
I would like to make a request/suggestion if you are.
Would it be possible in the builder to load a prop that is to be used for a specific selection?. So that for example, instead of a random floor piece used, I could have a column loaded, or for a wall, I could select certain props so I can have pipes/wires running around corners.
If too much work/proplems, then OK, not to worry. I will just have to edit/add the different props manually.
