Shadows in Preview/ posing screen?

So, in poser when you add a light you have the option to have it give you a rough Idea of which way the shadow created will be cast, and its usually defaulted to that, how ever that doesn't seem to be the case with Daz Studio. So, does such a function exist?

In D/S adding lights doesn't by default add shadows.
Select the light and on the Parameters tab look for shadows and turn 'em on.

that part I know... and that wasn't what I was asking... I am saying the preview/ posing the shadows don't show up, so I don't see them till I render, which sucks when using something like a gobo since that means render adjust and then render again hoping you fixed it.
Sadly there is now way to preview your shadows from the lights in DS
okay, yeah that should be changed >.<</p>

Well, to change that, there needs to be a major 'update' to the OpenGL shaders in DS, to something that more or less resembles those in modern games. From what I can tell, the OpenGL viewport/rendering hasn't really been updated in forever...it seems to be using the same 10 yr old basic shader set it's always used.

thanks I think I will
Wasting their time when they could be updating Hexie? tsk ...
works fine.
same scene
one light
one spot render per shadow type
Around the time Poser appeared with OpenGL shadow preview, I asked Rob Whisenant about this feature in DS in a thread. He didn't make any firm statement, but said "I can only tell you that OpenGL is a hot topic for us these days" (or words to that effect).
At the time, I asumed they were working on it, but nothing's appeared so far. However, I'm pretty sure it's coming, sooner or later.
