How did he do the McDonald's one?

Yes Mc D's is a very cool one. I think Hit Film can do the cut, background fill and overlay part. I'll have to ask my Hit Film guru the next time I see him on-line. Wish I had got Hit Film, but I'm not that advanced a user yet.
I just wonder if he has access to his work computers/software...he does work at Dreamworks, after all.

EDIT: Note to self read the info offered you dink its right there...
A lot of these could probably be done with just adobe after effects and some software like Particle Illusion.. (with some help from 3d modeling programs here and there..) it is amazing what can be done.. if you just look here:

I am almost sure that he uses AE, they are effects easy to make.
What is interesting, it is the real fire encrusted with tracking.
