A couple of question about "Categories"

Hi all,
can someone please help me, I have a couple of question about "Categories" found in the Content Library Pane for DazStudio pro 4.6.118.

I have been reorganising my DazStudio 4 categories to mirror my old content folder from DazStudio 3 days. The problem is when I delete a pre-named folder that Daz has set up, it reappears again when I reopen DazStudio 4. What do I need to do, to get the changes to stick. Is there some default setting I need to change somewhere.

And is there a way to make a separate backup of the changes made in the Categories folder, like some sort of ini file or data folder I can save?

Thanks (:

The Default will come back -- I put my custom categories outside of Default. (There is a file with the default categories, but it gets overwritten when you update, so I don't feel it's worthwhile editing it when you can create your own categories outside of default.)

To back up your custom categories use Content DB Maintenance > Export User Data. After that, when you Re-Import Metadata your custom categories will be at the top of the list.

Hi Mike, I simply created a sub category mystuff and then duplicated the default categories and its sub folders into it and now can change things to my hearts content, Thank You! ( :

Mike, I exported the user data but I don't know where it backed it up to? Did Dazstudio make a file somewhere in program files?

Thanks again for your help. ( :

It makes a file called UserData_1.dsx (or multiple files with a different number at the end) in Runtime:Support
