"All our Models work in DAZ Studio Pro" - Does anyone at DAZ advertising actually USE Studio?
I noticed a bug on the front page today that links to the "get DAZ Studio Free page", where it makes the statement that "all our models work in DAZ Studio Pro". Huh? At first I thought, well, maybe they just mean DAZ Originals, but given that there are products like this: http://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-clothing/victoria-4-summer-fashion , these: http://www.daz3d.com/environments-props/shadows-cottage , http://www.daz3d.com/environments-props/psi-city-sampler-signman-1-2 and these: http://www.daz3d.com/hair/modacuts-atoe , http://www.daz3d.com/hair/m4-metro-hair , http://www.daz3d.com/hair/enchanted-hair which are DAZ Originals, it makes me wonder. Is there any proofing of ads like this by tech people before they go out?

So sorry for any confusion the small banner may have caused. It was not meant to insinuate that every single DAZ O was able to be used in DAZ Studio but rather that a majority of the items sold here were made for use in DAZ Studio and include DAZ Studio Mats etc. Obviously there are packs that are Poser, Carrara, or Bryce Only. I believe for the sake of room they went for a simple statement. It may have been better to put "most" possibly instead of "all" but it was not meant to cause confusion or worry. So sorry for any inconvenience. We are re-evaluating the wording to see if there is a better way we can convey our meaning.
Definitely with ann0314 on this one. "All" is a much prettier word that "most" from an advertisement point of view.
Hard to convey "So many figures work in DAZ Studio that it will basically never be an issue that they also sell things for other products" in a short blurb.
@DAZ_ann0314 Maybe get a ballpark figure of the number of figures for sale and say something like "over XXXXX models supported in DAZ Studio Pro"
Still the same "oomph" without the risk of drawing the pedants out of the word-works.
I would say a very great % on the store works in DAZ Studio and only a handful % wise will not. Those that don't work will mostly be Carrara and Bryce shaders or content. There are very few Poser only packs in the store. Most of the new stuff coming out is DS friendly
Great idea! I will pass that along :)
I like the "Over XXXX" - it can give a large number that sounds great for advertising purposes and is honest.
Perhaps "Use our products in our *FREE* Daz Studio." might work as well.
they do say MODELS
not scenes, shaders and props. . . or products
models in it's strictest sence can refer to figures as in people.
a better idea would be All our models*
*with a few specified exceptions
Just my 2 cents, but I agree that "all" should mean everything, not nearly everything. Our poor language is getting kicked around enough as it is. As far as models being different from props, etc., that is probably correct but I think most would think of a model as anything being sold. I have no idea how you can say what you want to convey in as few words and remain absolutely accurate.
Well considering that there is a great difference in saying a "majority" and "All" I agree that the wording needs changed. It is false advertising at best, and needs to be changed. I would say a percentage be substituted for all simply to make the statement truthful.
Well I will say all "models" will generally work in DAZ Studio, even models made for Carrara etc. Any model can pretty much be used in DS in my experience and it is accurate to say that a model isnt a shader or a texture. That said, for the sake of least confusion and as to not cause concern since most people will think that means "all out of the box" which would not necessarily be the case for the other apps (you may need to apply smoothing and tweak textures etc and you'd have to bring it in by hand) they are looking at changing the wording :)
Thanks so much everyone for bringing it to our attention. Sometimes when someone writes something, to them it makes perfect sense as they know what they meant when they took it down to simplest terms but that doesn't mean everyone knows what you meant for sure and it is not something we want to cause confusion or seem inaccurate so we want to try and get the wording as best as possible. As I said before, so sorry for any confusion it may have caused. They are discussing how to better word it :) THANKS! :) <3</p>
And the bug is back up, with the same wording...
At this point I am just unsubscribing to his because my opinion of this will get me in trouble and I would rather not get banned from the forums.
Thanks for pointing it out...I'll let someone know. I am guessing it got mixed in somehow by accident :(
