I was looking through the store sales and found this item:
V3 New Generation 2005 (Version 2)

http://www.daz3d.com/v3-new-generation-2005-version-2

I never got to use V3 though I got many of her add-on offerings here and elsewhere. Went from V2 to V4 so kinda missed out.
I was thinking of installing her but was curious about this iteration of her.
How different is she compared to the first iteration that came out (never like the Mil3 figures much because of those weird collars/shoulders/arm pits)? Were her shoulders/collar and arms fixed in this version?
If anyone picked her up and can give me some ideas what i will be getting with her that will make her better than the first version I have, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks
Shante

That was an alternative set of morphs totally separate from the V3 Head & Body Morphs. I only ever saw one character released for that set.

Sucks they only have one image in the store page of it and that is a portrait as if that was the only thing it is god for. What character was released for it...do you remember? Maybe that product page will show more of the morphing options. If these new morphs include those fixes mentioned above then it might be worth buying....V3 shoulders and collars and underarms areas sucked. No need to buy it if it doesn't address that.

Interesting. I went to the store and tried several times several ways to type into the store search:
V3 New Generation 2005 to see what would come up. Got nothing. I had to type V3 in alone to get anything but none of the New Generation stuff came up.

And no it looks like those body parts I had a complaint about were not fixed in this New Generation package. Lina looks the same as a regular V3 in shoulders/underarms/collar. So it looks like I will save my money.

    Thanks for the help

You must own the V3 base to use this product. The second version of this product corrected some issues but the underlying mesh is the same. No, her shoulders and collars remain the same as the original mesh to avoid issues with conforming clothing. If you purchased the first version from Harvey Mann aka Magiz101, check you product library. I don't recall if this was a free upgrade or not.

Because of the inj/rem channel limitations of the Generation 3 figures, this is a separate cr2.

I got the whole shebang when she was first released. Never used her because my system could never handle it. I think there was at least one fix for that area and if there was I know I downloaded it but it is on a cd somewhere in the huge pile of cds/dvds in my library and going through them all is just too daunting a task just now. Since there really is no rapid fix i can get my mitties on immediately, i'll just continue avoiding all the skanky arm pit/funky bulging shouldered Mil3 figures (except A3 which for some reason didn't seem to have the same problem..at least not so glaringly obvious) and just keep working with the Mil2 and Mil4 figures.

Go to your account page. There is a listing for Product Library. Since you purchased V3 and the the Magiz101 version as well as the morphs they should be listed in the product library list. You can input a work or words and filter through the Product Library. It will give you a list that matches or closely matches.

Click on the various products, download them and install them.

Or you can install the DIM if you don't have it installed. Once you have it installed, you can use it as a download manager by telling it where and which folder you want the files downloaded. Or, you can use it as a full installation manager by allowing it not only to download but install the files to a specific location. Just be aware that if you use it as an installation manager, it tends to install everything to one single folder. If you are used to external runtimes, this can be a problem.

Correct me if I am wrong, I think there is a special set of morphs that can turn V4 into V3, essentially.

No. DAZ at one time offered legacy figures as part of a new figures base or for sale in the store. These are figures who have the body morphed and rigged in order for the the newer version to use older conforming clothing.

There were some P4Gen1 figures, Gen3 to Gen2 figures and a V4 to V3 figure. Legacy figures stopped at V4. There were none created for M4 or K4.

The V4 to V3 figure has a base V3 body morph. It's a static morph with V3 rigging. The figure accepts the V4 head morphs and V4 textures.

Because the body is rigged for V3, you can use V3 clothing out of the box.
