Arabic/Middle eastern/ Arabian nights/Ottoman male attire?

I was looking for middle eastern themed male attire, but to my surprise, I can't find much. There are some clothing that look more Indian, a touareg, but it's pretty specific, a warrior... But I couldn't find "man of the street" attire : ordinary people, merchants, or even princely, for that matter.

Does anybody have some suggestions?

I hadn't noticed anything since M4 https://www.daz3d.com/moroccan-dreams-for-michael-4 and the V4 female https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_8820 there were several textures for both.

You may also get some use out of LoRez Arab Male for background characters, but that's not much help for the subject of a render.

I'm going to buy Moroccan dreams, hoping it will adapt to more recent characters. And indeed the Lorez figures won't help much for a scene if I have nothing for the main characters. I bookmarked them anyway.. Thank you both.

I found also "persian fables for M4 : https://www.daz3d.com/classic-fantasy-persian-fable-for-m4 , although not exactly a "man of the street" attire. Even for women, in fact, the only things I see are harem dancers costumes.

I'm amazed. I was sure that I would be pointed at many items that I had somehow overlooked. Arabian nights seems such a common and obvious theme for renders, or the court of the sultan, or the crowded streets of Cairo at the time of Indiane Jones....I can't believe that there are essentially no asset for these.

Particularly surprising since there's on the other hand a lot of buildings and interiors for these themes. How do people populate the renders made with these assets, I wonder....

Maybe an idea for an artist?

OK, I found this too : https://www.daz3d.com/arabian-prince-outfit-for-genesis-3-male-s , although it looks more Indian to me, and besides again not exactly "man of the street".

Thank you. But I don't think I have ever bought an asset for Hiro 3. Could those be fitted to more recent figures?

The caftan is perfect. That's exactly the kind of product I was seeking. Thank you.

I was aware of the desert robes, but hadn't noticed that there was a non torn and used texture. So, thanks for pointing out this one too.

I swear that I looked seriously in the catalogue before asking.

@Meshitup is definitely the best for Middle Eastern offerings at the moment. This is another really versatile G8M one that they have made...

And this is older but also good... https://www.daz3d.com/kurta-pajama

I must say, as someone who is of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern lineage (mixed with Scandinavian and Scottish, which is certainly interesting haha), I do wish there was more DO content representitive of Arabic/Middle Eastern culture... a core male or female DO figure who was Mediterranean or Middle Eastern would be an instant buy for me and probably encourage PAs to make more content :) It's odd to me that we have caucasian figures, such as the gorgeous Ellithia and to a lesser extent Elios, who reference the Ancient cultures of the "Levant" in their bundle content but no characters who are obviously ethnically Med/Middle Eastern. We have Iberian (Diego and Gabriella), East Asian (Lei and Mei Lin) and Indian (Sanjay and Kala), so I think it's one of the missing areas. I'd love to see more in the store.

I guess it also depends on the amount of creators that feel comfortable with accurately protraying the culture. There might be a lot to get wrong beyond a few thing we've seen on media.  Perhaps a lot of PAs are not from the Middle East and so you don't see it reflected in the products.

I think this is an excellent point, and one we could all be 100% sympathetic towards -- the fear of misrepresenting another's culture -- but what I'd really love is for Daz to provide representation of the Middle East in their core figure range, the way they have with East Asia, India, etc., considering how many of us descend from or call this large part of the world home...

BUT, of course, I do acknowledge Daz can't exactly create a core figure to represent people from every ethnic group ... but I'd say we arguably have a good collection now of White European descent core DOs so hopefully the next character release will be a bit different :)

Well, I wish that they wouldn't be stopped by this kind of considerations. I'm not searching for accurate portrayals of what people dressed like historically. I'm convinced that many of those wouldn't be readily recognizable as "middle eastern" to the ordinary viewer. I'm searching for instance for classical depictions in the "Arabian nights" style, immediately identifiable as "this is obviously a shrewd merchand of legendary Baghdad probably selling a magical lamp or something..."  Historically and culturally accurate depictions would only matter for the extremely small number of people who would situate their renders in an historically authentic context. Who does renders actually set in the Baghdad of the 9th century as opposed to some random fantasy setting with a "middle eastern" feel?

People create and sell what other people buy, I guess. There's obviously an overwhelming majority of white models, and a large selection of black models (although Americans and people from a very small number of other countries would probably argue otherwise, being accustomed to black people being a significant part of their population and expecting to find the same racial mix on DAZ they see in their hometown. I'm guessing there are few people from sub-saharian Africa in the 3D community), and there's a lack of pretty much everybody else. There are some East Asians (Chinese/Japanese) but until recently, the absence of Indian types was glaring given how many of them there are not just in India but all over the world, however some were released recently. I agree that Middle Eastern/North African is the only large "ethnicity" for which there are very few models. But again, people will sell what people will buy, so I'm not surprised.

However, I was more talking about the costumes, here, and I was very surprised to discover that there weren't many of them because the legendary middle east is a very common trope of fiction, and I would have expected the existence of many assets for people making renders with themes such as Arabian nights, harems, desert nomads, sultan palaces, Indiana Jones, etc...
