Whatever happened to the PFE in Studio 4.6.2.118? It is not among the scripts and when I try to install from a download, I get an error ...S{installdir_content) resolved to an emplty value.
The installer also doesn't give an installation path option.

download the zip and unzip
you can drag and drop the script into studio, I do for saving pz2 animations carrara 8.1 and Poser7
PFE never was included in Dazstudio - it is a separate "purchase" for $0.00

If you use DIM, search for Poser Format Exporter, if you prefer to download from the store:

Thanks for the replies:)
Yes, I knew it wasn't included, but I've had it since forever and expected it would have been included when i did a total re-install of everything Daz using DIM.
Anyhow, wasn't able to locate it through DIM, but found it in my product library. Doesn't seem to be DIM ready?
First downloaded the zip, and unzipped - it went into an endless loop at 99% extracted - showed 7 errors Then downloaded the .exe, which didn't know where to install - did give me an option though, so was finally able to get it working!
Wendy - you being so experimental:) Do you know how to convert the pz2 import to an NLA clip in Carrara? it makes the clip OK, but doesn't delete the pz2 from the timeline. When I manually delete and load the clip, it doesn't work.
Cheers:)
I have no idea as it deletes the keyframes for me.
are all the bones and morph groups ticked in the clip heirarchy when you save it?
Thanks, Wendy:)
When I say it doesn't delete the keyframes, well, what I get on import is not the black triangular keyframes, but a coloured line with marks for every frame, which stretches to eternity. If I ask to load clip data, I get the normal keyframes, packed solidly, and the timeline freezes up - can't even scrub it. Won't make an NLA clip from that.
Yes, the NLA I make has all the boxes ticked and everything done the way I normally make an NLA.
OK - the imported pz2 makes it's own clip, which, if I bring it into a new scene, is only a pose, not a clip. The NLA clip I make has no effect in a new scene..
The thing is, if you are able to make a workable clip, it does give hope, so I can carry on trying, knowing I'm not flogging a dead horse :)
Edit : Ten minutes later, got it sorted!
The reason it made a pose, not an anim clip when I loaded keyframe data is that the two sliders which define the range were locked together under the scrubber slider at keyframe zero. Once I'd found that and moved them apart to define the range, all was well :)
Thanks for your help!
I used it last on a Daz friendlyt carnegie mellon mocap from cgspeed as those work better in DS
also iClone BVH exports
did you use an aniblock by some chance? those act odd at times
well just tried everyday motions sit drink baked to timeline on genesis
Hi Wendy - see the edit to my post above - we were cross-posting.
What I used was a conversion from the CMU mocaps, made for Poser by mojoDallas and available at ShareCG - just testing and they work really great, after going through DS.
just doing next step also cross posting
a pose will not remove a clip does and works
will try your choice next
I tried one of those you used
oddly only 12 unzipped dunno if my download corrupt and after schooling the whiners on sharecg got the same spastic moves on genesis!
(but suspect Poser figures would be fine)
however
in spite of a very long series of keyframes it did convert to NLA removing keyframes so not sure what is going wromg for you, sorry
