Hi,, my dell windows 64bit PC HD have broken,,I will send my PC to DELL service, then DELL said, they will exchange HD only ,, ><;</p>

I hope to know step by step way,, to keep my all contents, layouts, setting,, meta-data, of daz aprications with plug-ins,,
and hope to smooth translate all to new HD.

DAZ aprications (Hexagon, Carrara, DAZ studio , 32bit and 64bits,)were installed to default location.

DAZ content management service are installed to default location too.

DIM was installed to default location.

But My all Ribraries are saved in another volume of same HD drive, with each aprication names.
I can copy my data files without problem to another Back up HD (and export user-data ,(copy and paste to new HD)
I copied CMS database files too.

but can I keep each aprication settings,, and resotre them?

If I may need to re-download DIM ,and download each aprication one by one?
and re-make my Layout , setting , etc?

please step by step, with easy words,, I hope

This is what I would do:
    1. Save all the folder/files to a back up
    2. Download and reinstall all apps
    3. Copy&paste; writing over the new folders/files with the back up ones
    4. Open ds content manager ans re add all your ds and poser content file locations, if there not alre ady there.

Note never done this before, so I have no idea if it will setup ds with your old layout ect or not
Reminder youll need to also re input all your serial numbers for everything again,
    Good luck

The only way to restore your applications is if you have a full backup or image of your system drive. When Dell replaces your hard drive they will restore it to factory condition. You will have to reinstall all your apps. If you still have access to your system drive you can do a full backup now and then restore the backup to the new drive, but it's safer just to reinstall the apps.

If you still have access to the harddrive create an image with something like the free Paragon Backup & Recovery:
    http://www.paragon-software.com/de/home/br-free/

You say you have changed default locations and customized ... Daz is putting files for those data either in "appdata" or in the
    "Public Documents" folder ...

Yes,,.I can still access my PC untill friday^^; (I am so frightening,,,to change HD)

then thanks all, I found "Dell Data Safe loacl back up",,
and version up the editon to system buck-up.

The documents say I can buck-up Full System of my C: main volume,,

(there are two buck-up type ,,
"File and folda buck up" and "full sysytem buck up"
    maybe later can save aprication, driver too,, I hope and believe so ^^;

Most of my aprication are installed to C main drive,, plug ins too,, then it may work I hope.
I made two buck - up,,

one is full system buck up of main C volume,,
then later is file and folda buck up for I volume (which is where I saved DSON files contents etc,,)

then I do not know clear about, Temporary files setting,,
I changed the ds temporary files location to "I:/myfile/dazstudio4/DAZtemp" by Preferences window,,

Can I delete them? I know there are some files ,,
    and layout files too,, but I need to keep them? ^^;
