Scene loading issues after moving Daz Studio 2.3 to new machine

Hey guys! Yup, I am using a fossil for my renders.
I recently purchased a new machine which has Windows 7 on. On my last PC I used Daz 2.3 for all my rendering and created various scenes which I use to save and load my character models. I have copied all of the content from 2.3 and transferred it to my new PC, reinstalling Daz 2.3 on said machine.
I have added content directories, and moved all the content into the locations that match my previous version. Daz 2.3 has found all the content, and loads it without any issue, however, when it comes to loading scenes that is when problems start to occur. It will load the scene to 100%, but then a pop up appears claiming that files are missing and that I need to add locations to the content directory. I have done this and still the same issue happens, and I am unable to load the scenes, leaving a blank space on the grid.
I do not wish to have to remake all of the characters I have if I can help it and would love to know if there is a way I can save the scenes. I have tried upgrading to later Daz versions, but I find a similar issue with loading old 2.3 scenes. It gets further then Daz 2.3, but it loads a naked figure with only the original mat skin of the model and nothing else (this is after adding content and what not).
I much prefer using 2.3 simply because its what I am used to and I find it a lot simpler. I would greatly appreciate any assistance on this matter in trying to load my original scenes on this new machine.
Thank you very much for your time.

You lack the Data folder from the first listed DAZ Studio content directory on your old system - that's where the geometry definitions for imported content get stored. If you can, get that from your old machine; if not, load the content you used (figures, props and any injected morphs) and save as a sceen file - that will regenerate the missing files.
Bear in mind that Windows 7 (and indeed Vista) and later protect the Program Files folders, so don't place your content in there - especially not the primary 9first listed) DAZ Studio content directory.
If I remember correctly 2.3 placed content folders in the Programs Files folders. If that is where your content folder(s) are on Win7 that will be a issue. The Program files folders in Win7 are now protected areas and can not be used to hold Content folders any longer.
And If I would read I would see this was already pointed out. Oops. :red:
Thanks for the quick response guys. Your help is much appreciated. I uninstalled and reinstalled Daz 2.3 again on my new PC on a separate drive, I then copied and combined my files and folders from my previous version and merged them with the new files on the new install on said separate drive.
I thought at first this might have worked as when I searched for content, it discovered the jpegs of the old scenes within the program, prompting me to open them. However, the same error occurred again with the same message. The message it comes up with is:-
"One or more files could not be found while loading:
Make sure that your Daz Studio content directories are correctly set in Edit > Preferences . Directories Menu tab"
I can only think the error now is that perhaps loading the scene results in it searching places I originally saved it in on the previous PC. All the files are present and I can load everything item wise, but the scenes just fail to load. Absolute worst case I will just have to spent a lot of time remaking my characters (which is a fair few XD) but ideally I'd love to get these scenes working.
Is there anything else I could try doing?
Have you looked at the log file, Help > Troubleshooting . View Log File?
If it says 'Cannot find file for storable....' , that means that the 'data' folder is not available. When DS2.3 saved a Scene file, it then created it's own geometry files for the objects, and stored them in the 'data' folder to use when reloading the Scene. It did not use the original geometry files to reload the scene.
Have a look to see what the error is. If the data folder cannot be found, then you will need to do as Richard suggested, create a new scene with the same items loaded, with the morphs injected, then the original scenes should load. In the dummy scene that you are creating, there is no need to pose the items, just load them so that DS2.3 can create geometry files in the data folder for them.
I'm having a similar problem. It won't save the scene files.
I'm moving from 32 bit win XP to 64 bit win 7.
On the win 7 machine I did a clean install of DS 2.3 & DS 3 64 bit. I may load DS 4 later.
Then I copied the complete DAZ 2.3 directory from the XP machine to the W 7 machine.
I also copied over all my external runtimes and my texture files
Except for a few missing .jpg files, (had to tell it where to look) the scene files loaded and rendered just fine.
The problem that I'm having is I cant re-save the scene files. It gives me an error window.
Apparently DS 3 is set up to save all content, data and scene files to the users documents directory, and doesn't have this problem.
My question is is there a simple way to set up DS 2.3 so it will work the same way that DS 3A does?
/// Never mind, I figured it out. I moved the content directory to "C:\user\username\docs\DAZ\Studio\".
Then I edited the setting for content directorys on the preferences tab. Works!
