Hmmm..Decisions, decisions. Do I Render with DAZ 3D at the cost of a penalty or should I get my Taxes done?

In the USA, 4/15 is tax filing deadline. Without making this a political debate, whats your priority today?

Get your taxes done. The state or the feds will hold any return they owe you hostage as long as possible but they never hesitate to demand you immediately pay if you owe them or owe penalties.

File an extension and render all day!!!

**Edit** Neither myself nor DAZ are responsible for what happens should you decide to do this.

We owe so if we don't come up with money today regardless of an extension we get penalties. We also have a quarterly tax payment due at the same time

I got my taxes done on Friday, so I'll be rendering today, though I haven't decided yet whether it'll be in DS or Bryce. Decisions, decisions.

Do the taxes so that you can blow part of your refund on buying more neat things to use in your renders?

Only if you are getting a refund. When it comes to the State of New York, I always hope I manage to break even with them.

Same here in Arizona. I filed weeks ago, so the amount due will be withdrawn from my account tomorrow.

I've tried tweaking my state withholding paperwork to come in on the nose, or even a little over, and I just can't seem to manage it.

It's never a huge amount that comes out of my discretionary spending pool; just enough to be annoying. Except that this week, there may also be a new G2M Pro pack available at the marketplace, which could cause me to rant. :blank:

Remember Teen Jayden and Josie are still dependents.... and don't forget the mortgage payments on the Dream Home are deductible.

I did my taxes last month.

In Canada, tax day is normally April 30 - but it's been pushed back five days this year because the tax servers were down for five days because of the Heartbleed bug.

Is it safe to file your taxes online? Has the IRS made a statement, one way or the other? Maybe you should mail them in...

...but what if you have to pay and are unemployed and have no money to pay?

...I thought of declaring Leela, Tracey, Jade, and little Annika as my dependents to get the tax credit for each. After all, their "well being" is contingent on my ability to earn an income to support the story they are part of.

Don't have the Dream Home but do have Blenworth and the Swedish Castle and those should give me some really hefty deductions.

Taxes it was! Thanks for all the great advice. Glad that done. No refunds, I need to send them a check. So I will wait for the PC release tomorrow before I make any hole in my wallet deeper.

Hey I maybe late to the party but: I just found something neat today - The "free" Character Generator rigged figure maker by Autodesk :) Neat!

Hmmmm, it's web-based. I wonder how well character creation works through a web browser, and whether the finished product can be used in Poser, DS, Carrara and the like.

Just submitted. Now to come up with the money to pay them on top of a quarterly payment.

File for an extension? I could ask my accountant what you should do. What state do you live in so she can look up the state tax statutes.

Filing an extension doesn't stop payment being due today. You will get penalized if making a payment after today. An extension only extends you getting the paperwork in but payment is still due.

...may need to still do that that because the "free" online service I was routed to only covered the Federal taxes. They wanted me to pay 30$ for them to file my state tax forms (so much for "free filing"). So now I have to fill the state forms out mt hand and mail them in.

Got mine done yesterday - less than an hour start to finish. My financial situation is about as simple as it gets: single, wages from one job, interest from one bank, one standard deduction, done.

I've also got my withholding set up just right: my federal and state refunds add up to $15. That's not quite as close as last year, when I owed $7 to one and got a $7 refund from the other.

...well finally got mine off and really got stung.

124$ by the feds - not as bad as I thought it would be.

However, the state assessed me a total of 452$. - Do they realise I am unemployed and have no income?

Looks like I need to match at least 5 numbers in the Megabucks tomorrow (500 - 600$ payout).
