DSON - very long load times...... is this normal?

I just installed DSON / Poser Pro 2014. I'm loading up V6 and it takes about 60 seconds to load. My hardware is as follows

OSX Mavericks,
Intel I7 4770K
16 GB

Latest version of DSON

I do remember DSON being much faster than this.

Thanks!

First time you load a figure it can take a bit. Subsequent loads should be quicker.

Clothing loads in a couple of seconds, but V6 takes about a minute no matter how many times I load the figure.

I haven't used the DSON importer myself in a while, but from what I recall 60 seconds isn't an abnormal amount of time to load a figure with a lot of properties like the G2F figure.

Clothing usually doesn't have a lot of morphs so that would make sense that it loads faster. If you have a lot of morphs installed for Genesis 2 Female then it is very possible that loading V6 could take a minute or so.

It's taken up to 2 minutes for me before. Normally when you load a figure for the first time. Most times you load that figure afterwards seems to load much quicker, but even then it takes me upwards of 40 seconds to load.

To tell the truth: loading V4 is faster - but then, when I go to injecting the morphs++, elite, A4 and so on - that takes as long as loading a Genesis/Genesis2 figure that comes with all morphs loaded.

There are several factors at play for load times.
First time load will take longer.
Number of morphs you have installed to Genesis makes a difference.
Whether you have the Poser Library "External" or "Embedded" makes a huge difference. (External is faster.)
And what runtime your PoserCF files are installed to makes a difference. (Faster if they are installed to the Base Poser Runtime, the same as other Python scripts.)
I have actually had Genesis with virtually all the morphs installed load at least as fast as V4 or even Roxie.

if I load v6 and save her in the library as say v6test, and then I load v6test. It loads about 4 to 5 times faster. Not sure why that would be happening. This does solve my problem, as I will use my saved version instead of the one that Daz installed.

    Thanks

I do the same - V4 with Morphs++ saved as a .duf scene loads in less than 10 seconds here. Also if I load it as the first thing when I have started DS 4.6 so it's not because of caching or whatever. It's the 64 bit version of DS btw, don't know how fast it loads in the 32 bit version.
