Putting Accessories on Genesis Characters then Export to FBX

Hi, thanks for this forum’s help to my previous problems. I really like the fast and accurate response. This forum greatly helps newbies like me find their way around the production pipeline. :’)

This time I’d like to attach a nametag on my Genesis character, so I made one cube, shape it into a nametag, put a material on, and attached it to my Genesis character.

I’d like to export my character to FBX so I could use it in 3dXchange and iClone. But when it’s exported to FBX, the nametag repositioned itself between the character’s foot (0,0,0 position) and is unable to be moved or edited.

Is there any advice on how to attach props (for example badges, nametags, etc) to characters and export them to FBX without getting the accessories repositioned? I’d like to hear your ideas. Thanks again! :)

you can export it seperately and attach it in iClone and save as an assesorry
    this is what I do.

Oh, I see. Thanks, Wendy. :) I have practiced your advice for iClone for quite some time. But this time I'd really like to merge the accessory to the character.

The thing is, after I put the nametag on my character, I need to use the character in Unity3D also. It would be really convenient if the accessory got merged with the character, so I don't have to put it on each time I use the character.

    then place it in position
hide everything else by clicking eye icons
    export obj removing hidden vertices
    re-import
    open transfer utility
choose Genesis as source your name-tag as target
    choose bodysuit for clothing
    accept
it will be rigged to the figure
