3DU Sam - converting to DSF format

nonesuch00nonesuch00 Posts: 18,120

Hey,

I have 3DU Sam and I wish to convert him to DSF format. He is CR2 now. I don't want or need him to be Genesis compatible, there is a Genesis Sam for that.

Question 1: How do I do that.

Question 2: Do then Sam Super Suit and Sam Super Shorts work in DAZ Studio 4.6? The slider does nothing.

Thanks.

Ciao

Sorry: if I new how I would delete this post. I've cross-posted to the correct area: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/40203/

Well I wish you would have merged into the thread Nut n' Bolts as that's where a post like this belongs. Could you please move this thread there? Thanks.

    convert him to DSF format
This can be taken in different ways, so first things first, do you want to convert him from Posers ancient parametric rigging to Tri-Ax Weight map rigging, or do you want to leave him using his original parametric rigging but have him in the DSON file format rather than the original Poser formats.

    Hey,

From what I've read since I've posted that is that I have to convert an old style, I think Poser 7 or 8 character to a TriAx Weight Mapped figure. Reading what that involves, even before I consider the morphs on this character, I've decided to leave the character as it is.

Lucky for me, the author of the tool I'm using said he would support, 1st the DAZ dsr file, which he has, and then the Poser CR2 file. So I'm waiting to hear if that's supported yet. I can't find reference to CR2 or Poser in the instructions or User Interface though. :-(

    Thanks.
