DIM seems to be working well for me

This is just a basic and general "thank you" for DAZ Install Manager.
I find that it does work well for me, especially with the huge number of updates we get in an average month's time. It also is a good research tool that helps me avoid buying things twice, which would really be a hassle. >:(

Yes, I agree, DIM is really really good. More should embrace it.
There is so much to gain by using it. Everybody really should give it a chance and not immediately say I don't like it and haven't even tried it.
I love DIM too. Before DIM I just shopped... now with DIM and Smart Content I actually use the stuff I buy.
I'll admit it, the troubles many people reported when DIM was introduced have kept me away from trying it. I'm not an early adopter - I'd rather wait until new systems are tested and stable before using them. The number of those frustrated with DIM made me very wary, especially since I was still new to D/S itself at the time.
Maybe I'll try DIM out next time I make a purchase here. Maybe I'll like it. Is there a guide that those familiar with DIM might find useful for a beginner? Just to ease the change.
I'm glad to hear that some actually like DIM. :)
I am really, really glad it is an option. i am sure it is helpful to most that use it, but i have my runtimes setup the way i want and my workflow works for me, so I have no interest in using it. Plus I like manually doing things and knowing where my content is because I put it there. I am tired of "depending" on an app or program to do something i can/should be doing for myself.
Anyhoo, glad for those that prefer and are enjoying it.
As a long time DAZ Studio user to me the DIM is so good I can install a full months content, MM, as I collect it and it all be 100% ready to use. In just minutes. In the past I would still be running install files or hand moving content from Zips. This to me is so good I now have content installed that I have never even looked at, do not need in my project yet but is ready to go just as soon as I am ready to use it. The Automatic Updates to files is just the icing on the cake IMHO.
When I set up my laptop, I copied my downloads library over from the workstation and then ran all the installs in less than 5 minutes. Going forward from that point, I just do the downloads on both computers separately, sometimes letting the laptop fall behind for months in updates, then just running DIM to "catch up" on downloads and installs before I go someplace.
The downloads can take time, especially when there are major updates waiting for download, but the installs go fast. If this becomes really serious, I'll put my download folder on my NAS so that I could just download once and install twice. But so far it's not been a big deal.
You mean we're not supposed to install it and just let it sit there? ;)

Why install it? It will only get dusty if you take it out of the packaging.
