I just took a bath with bath salts. I also took a pain killer. My feet were hurting me. Trying to remember if I took a walk or not.

It's just take, take, take with you, isn't it?

How do I make Hexagon less scary and more fun!

Certain people would suggest you take up Blender... ;-)

Because it's more scary and less fun. :P

I have a few friends who would vehemently deny that
Seriously, watched one of them stream some sculpting and game-stage creation in it a few months back.... Ya would think he had wrote the program himself he was zipping around so fast. Don't think he hit the Undo shortcut once.

I would say 'intimidating' but not exactly scary. I thought the same thing about Zbrush for like ever, but once I started working around in it, the scary was gone. :)

Blender gets a bad rap cos of the integrated UI. Lightwave is getting a bad rap for the split UI. I guess they could swap

I tried LW 9's 30-day trial back when it first came out, and I much prefer the "integrated" UI in Blender.

As for running back to Hexagon because Blender's scarier . . . never. Of course I had already been using Blender for a few years before trying Hexagon, but Blender doesn't cr*p out and crash on me every 10 to 15 minutes, so I'll stick with (and continue to learn to work with) the harder UI, since I can at least produce something every time I open it, instead of giving up in frustration with Hexagon.

...I agree about Hexagon. Even making it Large Address aware on my 64 bit system it still doesn't like me using smoothing and subdivision very much. Most likely it is due to he memory constraints it still must work under being only 32 bit. Crashed Silo in about ten minutes as well working on a simple "classic" flying saucer.

True Blender is far more stable and also 64 bit. but for me the frustration is with having to spend a tonne of time to just figure out the UI before I can even start on a simple project. Grasping the concepts of modelling are difficult enough.

Basically I need a modelling app with the power and stability of Blender that has the easy to understand UI of Hexagon. Why can't someone produce such a programme (and not charge a king's ransom for it like Autodesk does?).

...The Blender UI Hurts My Brain Too Much Complaint Thread.

Sculptris is free and go0d for modelling curvy things. Hex is more a polygon editor. Blender gives you both and more. Often crashes happen when users apply curvy-stuff tools to polygon surfaces or viva-versa. Hex should be using an infinitesimal amount of Ram to push polygon :)

Lazed around in the sun all day. All the equipment that was flashing red and amber broken was steady-as-she-goes green and working when we got home. Kinda bothers me that I don't know what took out all the stuff on the network, think it was some kind of DNS issue

Whisky Tango Foxtrot why? Not exactly a certified network engineer by any means but that wuz weird and there was some weird stuff going on for a few weeks, like disappearing share points. The best I can do with the DNS server is DiG it, and DiG tells me NOERROR.

Oh well. Can't blame ignorance on the tools. That is my non complaint nao :)

Reld's little midnight stroll is interrupted as he's greeted by another dragon.

Finally got the eyes like I wanted.

How's everyone been? I've been super busy with work and my creative spirit went on a long, long vacation. But when I saw the Dragon 3 in the store, some of my spark woke up.

Samuel walked stealthily behind Reld in the dark forest. Other than the faint gurgle of the stream and the buzz of insects, it was quiet. "Are you sure you saw something out here, Reld?" he asked in a soft voice.
"Yes," the dragon murmured. "Less than an hour ago." The dragon then froze in place.
Instantly, Samuel crouched, scanning his surroundings. He still didn't see anything out of order. "Where is it?" he asked.
The dragon mumbled, "There's something on my nose."

Just expanding on the previous image to bring in Samuel.

    Also, thanks Misty.
