Genesis Texture on G2M

I've searched through the forum for an answer, but I'm not finding one... I'm trying to fit a Genesis texture to G2M--is this possible?
I saw a post about M4 textures on G2M, but I have super tired-head. The answer may have been there, but I missed it. Cam anyone point me in the right direction?

Genesis has multiple uv sets so it depends on which one it is built on.
Ahh-that makes sense. I am trying to apply one of the Monstrositie textures to fit G2M---probably no UV for that. Thanks, though!
It depends. G2F/M can take Genesis textures with no extra plugins needed, but (1) G2 can only take textures in .duf format, and (2) older Genesis textures made before D|S4.5 will probably be in the old script format and won't work immediately on G2. The fix is to load the Genesis texture on a Genesis figure, then save it as a "Materials preset". This new preset will be in .duf format and will load onto G2. DON'T USE THE SAME NAME AS THE EXISTING FILE, USE A NEW FILE NAME!
Note that these older Genesis textures are gradually being fixed and updated to the new file format, but it isn't a high priority unless that texture has an actual bug that needs fixing.
Edit: just noticed I got ninja'd. I'm sure I saw a thread somewhere in here about transferring Genesis UVs to Gen2, so there might still be a way of doing this. Not sure if the morphs (if you want them as well) would be as easily transferred, though.

Thank you--I'll check to see what materials/UV maps I'm using as soon as this render finishes.
G2F comes with V5 UV and G2M with M5 straight out of the box.
UVs for the other generation 5 characters (Steph, Aiko, Hiro, David, Freak) can be added to Gen2 using Slosh's UV bundles:
Males: http://www.daz3d.com/generation-5-uv-bundle-for-genesis-2-male-s
Females: http://www.daz3d.com/generation-5-uv-bundle-for-genesis-2-female-s
Many Genesis characters however, used V4/M4 UVs since those came built in on Genesis and provided backwards compatability. M4/V4 UVs can be added to Gen2 via the M4/V4 for Genesis 2 Males/Females by Slosh and MallenLane.
As far as I know, none of the custom monster/creature UVs have been transferred.
I think you're right. I used Luthbel's "Zombie" instead of one of the "Monstrosities" textures. I'll try again tomorrow...
it can be done in two steps using map transfer
a lot of work but doable
you use map transfer on Genesis first to create new M5 UV'd maps of your textures
then save those as a material preset for G2M which uses M5 UV's
not one I was actually looking for but Sickleyeild has a cool tute too

Ain't you talking about material presets? All the texteres are .jpgs and .duf presets are referring to them. So, if G2 figure has a UV set corresponding to .jpg texture set, then you might use existing G2 skin material preset to compile a new one with G1 textures.
Thanks--I'll take a look at this. It does sound like a lot of work, though....
