Upgraded to newest DS now rendering hangs
Hey all!
Ok so I just upgraded DS to 4.6.2.120 and since I did, my renders hang for a long time... it seems like every time I load up DS and open a previously saved scene it goes to "Optimizing Images" then "Rendering..." and then it just stops. It doesn't crash or anything, just doesn't do anything.
I left it for 30 minutes and still nothing. As a point of reference, I can typically have 8-10 figures in a scene, clothed, with scene props and Uber shaders and it takes about 30-40 minutes in total to render at high quality... so 30 minutes just to wait for it to start is excessive over what I'm used to. This just started right after I upgraded.
Is there something I need to reset after the upgrade? I cleared my DSON cache, that cleared up another issue I was having, but so far on some scenes with some characters it just refuses to render.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

There is a known issue for some users with the TDLMake process - it is fixed in the new Public Beta, I believe.
That's fantabulous.... but err... went to dload the build and it shows up in my product library, go to dload it and its not actually there... just all the companion files.
So, where do I get it?
The Beta is only available via the DIM.
The DIM makes sure the beta and your actual program don't overwrite each other.
Awesome, yes, I did see that, which is fine, except that clicking Download and Install brings up a string of sku numbers in my DIM and sku:12000 isn't being found.
Ensure that in DIM - settings - download filters, ‘Public Builds’ is checked. If not, check it, then it should show up
That did it! All better now.
Thank you very much for the advice.
question do you have to check private as well as public or just public
There is a Fix for the Full version of DAZ Studio without needing the Beta.
It is this easy. In DAZ Studio 4.6.2.120 open your Surfaces Tab, use the Mini Menu, four line thing, and set Automatically Refresh Images to OFF. That will stop the TDLmake issue, as far as I know it works.
Just Public Build, Private Build is for the in-house beta team.
