What is the problem with Daz's Conforming Dynamic Cloak? It will NOT drape onto V4 at all. I continue to get a weird error message about settings being "too extreme" which is total b.s!!! >:-(

    Which application are you using?

What happens when you select the cloak and go to the conform to/fit to command?

The V4 cloak shares the same skeleton as V4. It also has a load of movement morphs and body handles that allow you to position it.

If you are trying to use the conforming cloak in DS via the dynamic cloth plugin, it won't work. DS cannot 'clothify" the cloak.

If this product http://www.daz3d.com/controllable-dynamic-cloak-for-daz-studio it should be able to drape dynamically based off what I read and the fact Optitex is listed

That's what I've been trying to do, since it is an Optitex clothing article. Absolutely NOTHING happens. It flat out will not conform to V4 at all. I don not know how to get this to work. It's making me very angry! I hate wasting money on things that won't work properly.

Here is what's happening. The damned thing flat out will NOT conform to V4 regardless of what I try!

The Conform To/Fit To command is no where to be found in the Perimeters.

That cloak, if it's the one FSMCDesigns linked to, isn't meant to conform as it is the wrong kind of shape. rather you are meant to pose the figure in frame 0 to fit in the base cloak, then apply your final pose in the last frame and run an animated drape from starting pose to final pose. There are several items like this. It's possible that if you are conforming the cloak to V4 something is getting twisted in such a way that the dynamics engine can't sort it out.

Well, the good news, for me at least, is that it does work (DS 4.6.2.?? 64-bit in Win 7).
On the slightly downside is the fact that it is one of the Dynamic Clothing items that requires a degree of care in use. Probably down to the nature of the item (it's a large cloak that can enfold a figure) it seems to be designed to be used by the underlying figure pushing/dragging the dynamic clothing with it. The main trick looks to being to start from a known position ... literally!
    Load V4.
With V4 selected in scene tab, load the Cloak Long.daz.
V4 will have her arms stuck through the cloak, but 'we have the technology ...' In the same place as the item should be a set of three poses (V4 Prep Pose.dsa, V4 Prep Pose 2.dsa and V4 Prep Pose 3.dsa) The Prep Pose 3 looks to be a good start as it 'mirrors' how the cloak loads initially.
Go to your DS timeline and select something around frame 20-25 and give V4 a new pose (the one you want). Go back to frame 0 and then use the drape option on the DCC tab.

See attached images for a very ugly quick test! ;)
