Hi, I'm Mike, and I'm a wishlist hoarder..

..It's been two weeks since I added to my wishlist..
I have 536 items there.. It's gotten so full, that when I have money to spend, I use it as a bookmark list, opening tabs in my browser for each of the items I want to choose from, and then adding to cart from the tab, leaving the items I've already purchased in my wishlist to languish for eternity..
If there was a way to quickly remove multiple items from the list, I would clean it out, honest I would.. but it takes so darned long for each item, and there's so many...
I'm sure there are dozens of items that have multiple copies on the list.. Sometimes it's just too big to scan through them all to see if something's already in there...

Am I alone in this?
No. I have 269 items in my wishlist. There would be more but I have managed to clean it up a few times.
I cannot tel you the number of times I have gone to add something to my cart from my wishlist only to find out it has already been purchased. :ohh:
I also discovered I have added items to my wishlist that were there already. When that happens the quantity changes from 1 to 2. So every once in a while I go through looking at the quantity number and change it back to 1. If I want to remove multiple items from my wishlist I change the quantity number to 0 then update list.
If there is an easier way to do this I would really like to know.
Other sites have a "clear all items" button on the wishlist.
I hadn't thought of that, it's got to save time! The quantity window is so small I've never paid any attention to it..
Argh...
So I went through and filled those quantities with 0 on items already purchased or that I felt I never would use or buy.. and I'm still at 392...
My wishlist is a Bloody mess:(
391 -delete. 390 - delete, 389...delete. Or ADD ALL TO CART!
You can remove multiple items from the wishlist, by reducing the quantity to ZERO and updating.
My wishlist currently has 808 articles in it, many of them twice or thrice.
It tends to fill up, rather than slowly dwindle, because - oh, look, shiny! - when I fill my cart with all those nice offers, and then take a look at my budget, and it's off to the wishlist until I win the lottery, or something... :snake:
I used to have over 600 items on my wishlist. I'd like to say I got rid of a bunch of them via acts of iron will, but the truth is that some were for items that have been discontinued, some were for products I don't really use anymore (Carrara, Bryce,) and a bunch were for items that aren't DS4 compatible or are Poser only. That probably accounted for a hundred or so.
And the rest I bought. :red:
I like the way you think, sir!
I have 15 items on my wishlist and none of them are Aiko3 items.
I have 18 items in my wishlist currently... but that's only because I regularly go through the list and buy the items. After all, what is a wishlist for if not for adding in items that you intend to buy someday?
Ahh, but that's the keyword right there. lol
I end up adding things to my list, but then debating if I really want it right then and there when it's on sale.. or wait for another sale. 8-/
Lol! This is a funny thread.
I only have 8 items on my wish list.......
What I've always REALLY wished for though is that when Daz puts an item on sale, they would automatically send out an email to everyone who has that item in their wish list, including flash sales.
They send so many promotional emails already, why not another? Especially to people that have shown an interest in buying
the item.
I think it would drive them additional business...............and empty my wallet, lol.
Oh.. err.. uhh.. someone around here made a script/site that lets you track wishlist sales.. now if I could just remember who.

Got it. It was Cypherfox.

Wow, that is awesome! Thanks.
I hope the people at Daz now what a great community has grown around there products.
That's pretty impressive when your own customers start taking the hassle of marketing work into their own hands.
I've never understood why DAZ doesn't send a notification when something on your wishlist goes on sale like some other sites do. I've purchased many items after being notified.
I have zero items on my wishlist atm. But that's because I buy everything I put on there ;-P
I have 46 items in my wishlist, about a little more than half of which are PC or DO items (for my monthly vouchers). I'm usually pretty good about moving items from my wishlist to my cart, but miss 1 or 2 now and then (as I did on Wednesday).
I wouldn't mind having a notification if one of my non-PC/DO wishlist items went on sale. I've seen those from other sites, and I appreciate it. Doesn't mean I necessarily run and buy it, but at least it gives me the option of doing so while it's on sale.
In years past I used to clear out whatever PC items I had in my wishlist during the annual PC Ann'y sale, but not so much since the new store.
This issue comes up fairly regularly. Renderosity sends out wishlist sale emails and I'm fairly sure RuntimeDNA does it as well.
Cheers,
Alex.
217 here; clearly I'm a slacker... :-P
It would be really nice to have folders in the wishlist (or multiple wishlists like Amazon has)...
Or would that be called "enabling"? ;-)
I had 952 items on my wishlist. Emphasis: Had. Nuked 'em all today. Figured if I couldn't remember putting it on there, it didn't need to be on there -- if I find myself thinking "Gee, I could really use X right now", that's the time to go looking in the store for it. Also figured a wishlist so large it took five minutes to load and ages to read wasn't doing me any good anyway.
For everybody else who wants to exercise the nuclear option, I've written a GreaseMonkey user script; it's for Firefox, not sure how it'll work on other versions. It adds a "Zero Wishlist" button to the bottom of the list. Click the button, then click "Update Wishlist", and your wishlist will be emptied.
EDIT: Sigh... apparently, even when you are using the CODE tag, some things are scrubbed from posts. zerob[removed] should say zerob.inner H T M L (without spaces) and sharebtn[removed] should say sharebtn.par ent Node (without spaces).
