Commercial 2D Animation

Hi guys.
I need help!
I understand that DAZ 3D grants to its users 2D animation commercial rights. Should I include every single model that I’ve used in "Credits" Section of the DVD, or just mentioning DAZ 3D is sufficient enough?
Thank you, for your help!

I don't believe that you even need to mention DAZ 3D, let alone credit all of the models.

It is up to you really, there is no legal requirement that I know of, but a mention for DAZ 3D would be sufficient I think.

Hi Jimmy, thank you for quick response.
Maybe you know answer on my next question? I want to make my lengthy 2D animation solely based on DAZ 3D models, but in License Agreement they mentioned "other two-dimensional works". Does it mean that I have to incorporate DAZ 3D models into an animation from other softwares' models, or there are no such limitations?

You can create the animation in any software of your choice, with other models as you see fit, there are no other restrictions that I am aware of.

The whole basis of the EULA (in my opinion) is to protect the assets produced by DAZ 3D and other PAs, so that they can not be extracted and sold on by people who have no rights to them. You should be safe enough with animations which are really just 2D renderings in an image sequence.

Dimon, your question is the closest I have found to a similar question I had, that perhaps ether of you might know the answer to.

I am considering using DAZ studio to render a gallery of different female body shapes to use for an online clothes fitting tool. Essentially, I would be creating somewhere around 100 different snapshots of different basic body shapes and then taking those rendered, flat images for my users to select from to choose their body shape, and then hopefully sell them clothes that fit them better.

Do ether of you know if I need to buy a license to do this?
I was hoping to use the free version of DAZ Studio, along with the Shape Shift package.
Trying to wrap my head around the EULA but I don't really understand it and I don't want to end up in legal trouble or anything.
    Thanks,
    Emily

Renders, any 2D output, is free use as covered in the EULA. Nothing more is needed to use a render or a animation in any way the end user sees fit. If you wish to use renders to sale, or on a for sale site the EULA covers that. If you wish to use 2D rendered animations in a game the EULA covers that as well. Only more is needed when a user gets to the level of including the MESH file(s) themselves in programs or other files in someway.

Since you would be using 2D renders the basic EULA that you get when you purchase content or DAZ Studio from the store would cover you.

Thank you both for your quick responses!
Richard, when you say when I purchase DAZ studio from the store, is that different from downloading the free version?

Purchase includes purchase for free. If you had the direct download, instead of having to go through your account, then the EULA would have been in the installer but the end result is the same.

No, you must agree to the EULA to get the content. So your going to Have the EULA covered before you can render. Getting the Free version is still getting it from DAZ 3D, it and the content all go through the store, The EULA you agree to to Download is the General EULA we are talking about.

Or that way as Richard just pointed out.
