More Historical Clothing/Hair for G8

Oh why hello there fellow Dazelites,

I must admit that well made historical clothing is basically an instabuy for me. One of my favourite 2020 new releases so far has been Moonscape, Sade and Mada's Naval Uniform for Genesis 8 Male which came out with the Valentino bundle, and it's totally whet my appetite for more historical clothing for G8. There is quite a wealth of historical stuff from the previous generations that can of course be converted but there's not as much "new" for G8 right now. I would think this is a marketable area for PAs due to the amount of us who do either historical renders or fantasy renders, as historical clothing is so highly kitbashable (steampunk, rococopunk, spacepirate, high Tolkienesque fantasy...).

I'd personally really love to see G8 clothing/hair for any of these "historical themes":

- A Genesis 8 tudor men's suit (a la this excellent Genesis era outfit by CuteD) and a tudor style dress for G8F;

- "Bonnets throughout the ages" for G8F, ranging from french hoods to 19th century Southern belle;

- Some simple and some truly ridiculous rococo wigs;

- 18th century clothing: perhaps an update on the Rococo Count for M4 , Doomed Poet and the V4 Marie Louise gown;

- Bayeux Tapestry-style 11th century Norman haircut to go with the many medeival outfits;

- Colonial era/founding father's American male outfit like this

- 17th century Caroline/Stuart era clothing (e.g lace, lace, lace and then some more lace);

- A G8 version of the beautiful previous generation "sensibility" regency era outfits and accessories;

- Some early lace Edwardian dresses and House of Worth style tea gowns;

- 19th century/Edo-period Samuri clothing.

A bit of a eurocentric list, I know, but just a starting place :)

Anyone else have any historical "wants" they'd love to see for G8?

    All you mentioned, yes! +1

    I'd love to see some more early medieval / ancient clothing. Unfortunately a lot is leaning on fantasy for me to be able to use it in a historical context. Some simple cotton and leather based outfits of different time periods and continents would be great.

    MORE HISTORICAL CLOTHING ...Yes, I'll sign. And YES, I would buy!

    Business-minded 3d artists:

    Now that the base with "Naval Uniform" has already been laid, it hardly takes much work to expand the field (uniforms of this era were all very similar). An adaptation of the socks in gaiters, a bearskin headdress or a "mitre" for grenadiers, a shako for normal soldiers (since we already have excellent bi- and tricorn hats). A knapsack with a rolled blanket on the back, belts crossed over the chest, one side for the small ammo pouch and the canteen, other side for the short sword and the bayonet ...... all regular armies and militia followed exactly the same pattern. And since military fashion was often very influential into civilian men's fashion, a number of "civilian" adjustments are realistically feasible.

    18th Century Clothing

    With enough options for choosing colors, all European and North American troops could be covered over several hundred years. Seven Years War, American Independence, Napoleonic Wars, Colonial Wars. Guard- and police forces, Infantry, dragoons, marines, artillery.... You name it! Only the cavalry deviates slightly (due to very specific requirements).

    Quote Wikipedia: "The jacket lining evolved to be of different coloured material, then of specific hues. Accordingly when the material was turned back on itself: the cuffs, lapels and tails of the jacket exposed the contrasting colours of the lining or facings, enabling ready visual distinction of different units: regiments, divisions or battalions each with their own specific and prominent colours. The use of distinctive facings for individual regiments was at its most popular in 18th century armies"

    We also need photorealistic lice from the period! ;-)

    Yes to everything, but especially this. I have a Revolutionary War render I'm working on for next week right now, and I'm really bumping up against the limitations here. I found a uniform on Renderosity for Michael 4 that kinda works, but looks ridiculous on my Genesis 8 figure. Will keep working on it, but would love to have something that did the job better.
